At the annual Miss Mystic Falls Pageant, Elena and Caroline give April (guest star Grace Phipps) advice on which dress to wear, while Tyler (Michael Trevino) and Hayley (guest star Phoebe Tonkin) work together on a secret project, and Damon confronts Prof. Shane with his suspicions. Alarmed by the vivid nightmares he’s having, Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) turns to Matt (Zach Roerig) for help, but the situation escalates sooner than anyone expected. Olympic Gold Medalist Gabrielle Douglas also makes an appearance. Jeffrey Hunt directed the episode written by Caroline Dries and Elisabeth R. Finch (#407).

Elena, Caroline (Candice Accola) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) share a girls’ night while the Salvatore brothers are out of town, and emotions run high when Elena delivers some shocking news. It really does just feel like S3 all over. DE only get moments when Stefan isn't around. He's got a back and is going out of town. Cue the music for Damon to try and make his move. :hammer_head: Then again with Elena have a personality switch maybe she is the one trying to make something happen.

same here.

I don't mind SE being in a fight. Given the circumstances I believe she's justified, even if she decides to take a break with him over it, but DE I absolutely cannot handle. It will probably turn out to be nothing like before, but I can't help but freak out. Lol

I wish that I was at least a Damon fan? Like...or a Elena fan? But most of the time I just don't get her.

I'm not quite sure i get Elena at all this season. And I know we are suppose to be taking in to account that its because she just got turned. Its just hard to keep that in mind because we so Caroline handle it all so gracefully.

I actually read something on Tumblr that made me laugh. Someone was asking how Caroline can remain dignified and classy in her love triangle but all the writers are managing to achieve Elena his sort of making her seem skanky. Its wrong because I laughed at that. I love Elena. She and Stefan were my favorite characters separately early on but like i said im trying to be patient to understand her this season. Its just so hard.

Gonna say the same thing I said on tumblr--it's because Elena's the main character. If Caroline was the main character, you can bet she'd be acting the exact same way. Just like every main character ever.

Yea I know. They have to create the storyline and make some sort of drama. Its just very frustrating. I just want to know how far and where exactly they are taking Elena's character.

I'm just fed up with the triangle. If they want DE just do it already. Let the DErs have their DE. Leave Stefan alone, and then just finish them off for good. I can't anymore.'
The triangle isn't fun. It isn't doing anything good for Elena's character. It's not letting the SD relationship progress and it's not letting Damon move on.

See, the thing is I don't think they want D/E at all. It's like a constant tease or something, but I have serious doubts that the writers ever intend to have the two in a relationship. If, heaven forbid, anything ever did set that up, it would probably be exactly like the books where Elena spends the entire time stressing out because she's not with Stefan. Damon is an obstacle, IMO, not an option.

Although I do agree that I am sick of the triangle. That's why I'm having hope that they're leading up to Damon making the decision to put some distance--for his own sake, for Stefan's, or because he's just sick of the constant rejection. The 'bond between brothers' heading for the synopsis makes me think that decision may happen in ep 7, which is why they're opening with a D/E scene in the first place. I mean, even Price Peterson is saying they should free Damon from the triangle so he can do his own thing--that should tell us something.
