The pirate show is only a mini-series though right, so it's not filming two full-time shows at the same time?

But even if with less episodes, each of them is like any other series, the time is the same, I guess (or even more, I suppose they'll use some CGI to recreate ships and navigation). They need to build a set to film because it's a period show...I watched a mini series few months ago - World Without End - and I read that they built the whole town, they created it from nothing.

The mini series was decided before Stalker, right? So maybe there's something about it in her contract

Maybe they will film that during the tv season hiatus over the summer?

airali_glo 06-23-2014 01:36 PM

But they have to film Stalker during that time. Stalker is a Fall show...

Admittedly I don't know much about the US tv schedule, but I thought that actors generally fit in their other projects during the summer because the regular tv season is from Sept-May?

They do, but usually they start filming fall shows in July and they go on for some months (usually they finish before February or March). I think also mid season shows start filming around that month if they have a lot of stuff to do (Smash for example was always a mid season show for both season and they always started filming around late July. They had more stuff than a traditional show, anyway, like recording the songs, learn choreographies, etc), but it can happen that they start in late August.

I learnt all this stuff thanks to GG

New shows only film the pilot before the pick ups, if they're lucky they start filming the other episodes.

I'll watch ANYTHING Maggie is in... so I don't mind watching Stalker. :P I loved her in Priest. One of the most amazing movies, even though she wasn't in it all that much.

And... as for Nikita, LOVED this moment :D

You'll love her in this show, then, because she's one of the main characters :)

Epic Nikita moment :D

By the way, Stalker will air on Wednesday, 10 PM (after Chicago PD).

GlobalTV Fall Schedule 2014 | Spoilers

I'm surprised they used CPD as lead in, I know that the plot is "similar" (cop stuff), but even if it has good ratings it's not a hit, imho.

Thanks for the info :)

A review of the pilot from TV Line

Quote:

Fall TV First Impression: CBS' Stalker

THE FIRST IMPRESSION | When the president of CBS Entertainment touts a show as “the scariest drama to ever air” on the network, you go in with certain expectations. And while elements of the Stalker pilot are, make no mistake, damn creepy — you will never look at your bedroom throw rug the same way again — this horror fan was a bit underwhelmed. (Was I disappointed that a Big Twist I predicted never came to fruition? Or maybe my sensibilities are too twisted? Discuss.) It very well could be that exec producer Kevin Williamson (The Following, Scream) didn’t want to go “all out” just yet with the pilot and risk giving CBS brass any heebie-jeebies as they made their fall TV picks, since I’m hearing that he’s got frightfully edgy plans for this latest endeavor.

Of the cast, it’s great to see Maggie Q again leading a show (if you’re hoping to see her kick a little ass, you’ll get that, though Beth may be even more dead-serious than Nikita!), while McDermott’s interloper is, by design, met with an uncomfortably chilly reception. Sure ’nuff, Beth and Jack each have “issues” in their past that would seem to service a serialized element to the series as it tackles Cases of the Week. Lastly, being a Williamson joint, Stalker has some terrific musical cues, including a haunting Michelle Branch cover of “Creep.”

THE TVLINE BOTTOM LINE | Stalker is, among other things, a perfect companion piece to lead-in Criminal Minds, so CBS shouldn’t miss a step when it comes to “flow” for the night, as CSI gets shuttled to Sundays. Subsequent episodes, though, would be wise to amp up the “OMGWTF!” factor, if only to generate buzz.
