It won't save as a .gif/.jpg./other How do I fix it?
First off if you're using AOL trying closing that down and try to use Internet Explorer and save the picture. If you were already using Internet Explorer or if it didn't work try going up to Tools on the toolbar >> Internet Options and then try to delete your temporary internet files. It should then be able to save it as the desired file type. You can also try having someone e-mail the picture file to you. You can also try this but be aware it doesn't always work on all computers. Try right clicking on the picture you want to save and then select "E-mail picture as...". Then a little screen will pop up titled "Sending Pictures Via E-mail" and it'll ask you if you want to make the picture smaller or keep the original size. Select the one to keep the original size and then click ok. Then another screen will pop up asking you to select a profile. Just select Outlook even if you don't use Outlook regularly. Then an outlook window for an e-mail will pop up with the whole "To..., From..., Cc..." and all that good stuff. Hopefully you'll see that under the Attachment section there's a tile of the picture file you want to save. You should be able to right click the picture tile and save it as the desired file type. Beware though that it doesn't work on all computers.

What are the limits for livejournal icons and fan forum avatars?

Avatars need to be a GIF file under 5500 bytes at the size of 45x45 pixels. Livejournal icons can be no bigger than 100x100 and at a file size under 40K.

I don't know the one for AIM icons so if you know it please post it.

Didn't want to open up a new thread. Just a small question. Can you point me in the direction of good tutorials for installing new styles/themes on phpBB message boards?

I took the lazy route and just used the "install message board" function that comes standard with cPanel, but I'm sure you can find a tutorial other than the phpbb2-provided one at the official message board of the program.

Speaking of message boards (didn't want to start a new topic for this), how much bandwidth would a small one take up? Not insanely active like this one Just one with moderate traffic and posting..? Thanks!

Thanks for the info Eidolon, I gave up on php though and installed and XMB board. Seems to be working pretty well for me so far.

Short_Stuff - You shouldn't need too much space. The most you'll need is 100mb, thats what I was told by a friend who has a pretty active message board. I've got mine up on lycos at the moment, I'm not going to buy some space until I have it all set up

In IE, Tools\Internet Options\Privacy should do it, then you can adjust the slider to what you feel comfortable with.

Just yesterday I signed on to my computer and when I'm surfing I listen to music. I opened my Windows Media Player and the speakers sound like they have to much bass or something because it's like they crack even though the music low. Does anyone know whats wrong? I've checked the bass on the volume control and the speaker.

Was that coming from only one track or several tracks? Have you downloaded these songs? Because if you did....maybe the file was kind of corrupted and wasn't of really good quality, especially if you downloaded it on Kazaa.
It happened to me once too, but that was because I was doing too much things at the same time, opened Internet Explorer many times and my computer couldn't follow.

No, it happens to every sound on my computer. I think it's a probelm with the speakers. My mom says I probably blew them, which was kinda odd because they sounded fine until I just logged on one day.

I agree, I think this is odd too....mmh. I guess you already tried to shut down your computer and restarted it? And maybe check that the speakers are well-linked to the computer. Sorry if that doesn't help much.

HTML experts...

Hey, my friend and I are in the process of making a fanfic awards site, she's well versed in HTML and all that but her job keeps her too busy to do it all by herself. I, however, am clueless in the department so I'm wondering if anyone's available to help with her with the scripts? This is what she says...

"If they know another language fluently, like asp or something and can design a voting script without my help then that's fine- they can do the script themselves, but basically, if they want to work with me as oppose to doing it on their own then they need to know php and mysql, maybe a little javascript.'

Unfortunately, we have nothing to offer but our undying love and to be forever in your debt. Either PM me or e-mail me at mysticchick86@livejournal.com if you're willing to help. Thanks!
