Digital Camera Trouble
For Christmas, I received a Kodak Easy Share CX4230. But it has been anything but an 'easy share.' When I bought it, I quickly bought batteries and began taking pictures. However, when I tried to upload them onto my computer (after installing the provided program), my computer refused to recognize the camera and no uploading took place. My brother has tried to uninstall, reinstall the software amidst other things, but nothing has worked.
Does anyone have any notion as to what's not working? If you need more information, I can try to provide it. __________________

The port you're connecting to on the computer (FireWire/USB) could be the problem. Have you had any other devices in the port before, and if so, were there any issues with connectivity with that?

No. When my brother came over to try and see what was wrong, he plugged the mouse into it and it worked fine. What do you think?
And it's a USB port. [ 05-02-2004: Message edited Burnination101 ] __________________

Have you checked out the cord itself? If the port works and the camera can capture pictures correctly, the cable could be damaged.
Other than that, also check to see if the software installed correctly; was it designed for the O/S you're running? __________________

Yes, the software says it's compatible with Windows 95, Windows 98, and Windows XP. I have Windows 98.
The cord might be the problem, though I think that my brother might have tried to use it on his own computer and the cord worked fine. I don't know what's wrong, and it's becoming so inconvienient to not have my pictures upload to my computer. __________________

Did you try the same camera/cord/software on your brother's computer? If it works perfectly there, then you can eliminate one side for potential conflict...

To be honest, I don't really remember.
Thanks so much for your trying efforts. I really do appreciate it. I'm bringing it into school on Friday and my Physics teacher, who's a whiz with computers, is going to help me. Thanks, though!
