VCR video tapes to the computer

Hello everyone! I'm wondering if someone can please explain me the whole process on how to transer VCR video tapes into the computer, and what programs should be used for that matter.

If anybody knows how, please let me know

You need someway to conect a VCR to your computer, and that's usually done with RCA or S-cables. Sometimes your computer can come with a video-input, or you can buy a peripheral to connect. Then, you need a program to capture the video once you hit "play" on the VCR.
That's generally how you do it. I don't know the particulars, though.

So I need to figure out how to connect my VCR in the computer!
It seems so difficult! Thanks anyway

Can someone please give me more details?

I'm starting to get, so if I buy those RCA cables, I'll be able to connect to VCR to the computer, and with Windows Movie Maker i'll be able to transfer my tapes?

the video card with the rca or coax input should come w/ some software that helps you capture the video. then you can export it to wmm.

that's where you need to buy a card that allows you to do it. honestly i'd consider bringing it somewhere b/c it's easy to buy the wrong card / install it wrong.

You don't need a card necessarily. You can get a USB device that has the things in it. Pinnacle used to make them. I usually see a bunch at CompUSA.
