It makes their ending that much more painful.

"You promised me!" was so heartbreaking. Especially AJ's performance.

But.. at the same time, I didn't blame Marti at all. What an awful thing to keep from her.

I loved how quick Marti was to make her believe that she wouldn't leave her. She just wanted her to let her in so bad and then she did and Marti got hurt so badly because of it.

I really wonder how they would've made up.. Any ideas?

I imagine Marti would be mad (rightfully so) for a few episodes, but maybe she'd meet with Rex and he'd open her eyes a little bit and show her that maybe Dierdre thought she was protecting her from how she knew Rex could be? Like, Dierdre knew that Rex has done nothing but disappoint her so far in her life and she didn't want to see the same thing happen to Marti, if she let him in her life. That could've been sweet.

I could see them doing a storyline where Rex and Marti started getting along but then he would do something that disappointed her and she would understand why Deirdre wanted to protect her.

Exactly my thoughts!

I think that could be a really touching way to get Marti to understand that Dierdre wasn't just trying to hurt her or keep Rex to herself, which I'm sure went through Marti's head once she discovered everything, you know? Awww.

It's so sad to know we'll never see it.

Whenever I rewatch the finale I usually just end it at the end of the Routine just so I dont have to see that scene.

Ugh. I really, really wish we had a damn season 2.

It would've been awesome to see these two reconnect and then to see them actually win.

I thought it was a really ballsy move to have them lose in the first place, actually. Most shows don't do that. I thought it was impressive.

I love how at the start of the routine Deirdre is sort of not liking it but when she sees how much fun her Sister and her team is having and how the routine is really unique she starts to smile and clap.
