Reasons why we love Damon&Katherine(Datherine):
1. Because he saved her from Luka's spell.
2. He chose to kiss her instead of killing her.
3. He spent 145 years obsessing over her.
4. He spent 145 years trying to find her.
5. He spent 145 years loving her.
6. He chose to spend an eternity with Katherine in The Return over being with Elena.
7. She taught him how to love.
8. She gave him purpose in live.
9. They have the same background.
10. He was accepting of her vampire face.
11. She trusted him with her vampire face.
12. They have that Bonnie&Clyde touch to them. They are a fictional version of Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka.
13. Regardless of what Katherine said she compelled Damon more than Stefan, Damon kept on saying "she never compelled my love." before Katherine "saying" otherwise.
14. They are beasts who don't need to change for each other.
15. Katherine loved him as well.
16. She cured him in the Season 2 finale.
17. Because "One-hundred and forty five years and no last goodbye?"
18. Because she taught him how to love.
19. Because he calls her kitty kat.

What were Kat and Damon like as kids - I wonder. I don't actually have a definitive answer. I think maybe they would have become gradual rebels rather than born rebels.

LOL! Oh my goodness I just laughed out loud at that. I think these two might have had to be the rebels that they are. I imagine young Damon and Katherine as quite sweet actually.

Just like I've said in the last thread, Damon and Katherine would most likely be rebellious as kids considering their nature now. They can definitely be the red headed stepchildren.

Well if you think about it, Katherine was actually really well off as a human, considering that she was landed and had multiple servants/horses etc. Her father was probably a minor noble (most likely a Baron of some sort, nowhere near important, but way above all those lesser mortals/serfs), so I can imagine that she was a spoilt little princess . As for Damon, he was the heir to the family estate, so he would have had people fawning over him his entire life (overprotected, always got what he wanted). So yes, he would have been the little lordling as well .

Figures that's why they clash so much, although Damon used to love fulfilling Katherine's every wish back in 1864 so...

Damon certainly has a lot of confidence, and that's the hallmark of nobility right? All he needs is a fancy title to go with it! Never mind that none of his plans ever go the way he wants, but improvisation is something that Damon has mastered. Stefan would call it arrogance, but who cares about his opinions? Not Damon at least! (Until Elena forced him to take Stefan into consideration, but that's just her trying to ruin his fun, as always!)
