I have some questions from you all that I want to answer here. So before you get angry and PM me again, please read it.

I closed the love life thread permanently because of the arguments and the offensive posts. I know many of you would have liked for it to stay open but quite honestly, it's not running smoothly at all.

In my decision to closing it, I also have decided to open a Nina/Derek thread, and after I announced it many of you PMed asking questions and worrying about it. So here are the questions and answers about the upcoming thread.

- Why are Nina/Derek getting a thread when it isn't confirmed that they are in a relationship?

Confirmed or not, any friendship or possible relationship can have a thread. I would think about it in this way: If we were to base threads on confirmation, then ultimately we would be closing the Nina/Ian thread since Nina had confirmed being single. And of course, I wouldn't even consider that.

- I don't get it, how will this thread solve any issues?

The problem with the love life thread is that there are Nina/Ian and Nina/Derek supporters unable to post together without being disrespectful. So this way, we now have a thread for both so that disagreeing parties won't collide over and over.

- So what if Nina dates someone else? Do they get a thread too?

For now, me and Ashley won't be thinking about more love interest threads. We just know that right now, Derek is being speculated the most, and we need to have our board come back to a place of peace and not hatred.

- What will the rules be like in this thread since they are unconfirmed?

Still working on that. But I will say, the rules will be the same in regards of speculation and the new rule will be no Nina/Ian discussion and also in Nina/Derek discussion in the Nina/Ian thread. Those two new rules for the threads will keep those who don't wish to hear any talk of the "other guy" happy within each thread.

- What about if we want to speculate other men in Nina's life?

While I am very sympathetic to this, for now it will remain to be seen. I am very sorry to those who followed the rules and this happened.

I really need you all to know that I have tried my hardest on this. I am not angry with anyone but I am quite disappointed in the behavior that people have PMed me in. Yes, I am a moderator who is supposed to do this but I am also a human being. And I feel that sometimes people forget about that when addressing moderators. I am okay, and always will be but it can be quite difficult to hear how you aren't a good moderator when you truly do your best. I just need all of you to know this. I didn't apply to be a moderator because I want to be the boss I did it because I absolutely love and admire our Nina and admired the posters here even more and I'm sure Ashley did alsoI so want that back and hope you all do too.

I think a big problem is that some people cannot imagine Nina and/or Ian with anyone else but each other and they go into other threads and cause problems. Hence achieving their goal to get the thread closed. There is an obvious group of them and when other posters try to defend Nina and Derek arguments happen. Unless these people are stopped, this thread will be closed as fast as the Love Life thread was. Maybe if posters can not refrain from causing problems, the result should be that both Nian threads are closed as well as this thread. Maybe it will make posters more courteous and respectful of everyone else's opinions. JMHO



You ARE a wonderful caring moderator and I am sure it is the same posters who respect no one and are rude who are saying these horrible things to you.. Do not let these people make you feel bad.

I just wanted to drop in and state my opinion on this, too. Erin and I are both mods here, so in a way if you feel a certain way about one of us for whatever reason, you really feel this way about both of us because we do talk back and forth about anything going on with the board. So, that being said, I just want to say something, too.

Hopefully, this will turn out to be a good thing. Now that ND have their own thread posters who ship, like, or want to talk about them can go post there and the Nian shippers/fan can stick to the NI thread because there is really no reason for posters to visit a thread that they really have no like or respect for. This way there will (cross fingers) be less problems between posters and such. 'Cause the last thing Erin and I want is for everyone to view the Nina board as a negative place because it really isn't. We try to keep it as positive as possible...which is why ND now have their own personal thread here.

I didn't apply to be a moderator because I want to be the boss I did it because I absolutely love and admire our Nina and admired the posters here even more and I'm sure Ashley did also I so want that back and hope you all do too.

THIS!! You're exactly right. Being a mod isn't about control, it's all about how much we admire a celebrity, tv show, etc. and how much we want to help make this board the best it can be for all of the posters here who share our admiration for Nina!

For me I don't take fictional or real shipping too seriously.... probably because I would love to date that celebrity (speaking from a males point of view). It is good that celebrities can date and find love because they are people too.

You hit the nail right on the head, now that there is a Derek and Nina thread if that happens again the thread won't have to be closed, but the posters will have to get a ban for breaking the thread rules . I think this is the perfect way to deal with thus widespread ongoing problem...thank you Erin and Ash for being two smart cookies , and you guys are great mods

I just want to thank those who took the time to post something here. I really appreciate the comments about being a good moderator. I have learned through this experience that you can really piss people off without even trying but I've just noticed so much of the posters say that they can't wait until certain threads are closed, and saying the board isn't the same. Well I was sort of in denial of it but honestly yes some things have changed because Nina's life is changing whether anyone wants to admit this or not. But I feel like while things are changing that it shouldn't change in the bigger picture because the board was born because of Nina and it still stands because of her and because of all of the posters here who I deeply respect.

Dave, I agree. I do understand why so many love real life relationships but as much as I admire Nina and Ian as a couple, I very much admire Nina and her happiness. And I am far more invested in her career and talent than I am in her choice of life partners and I would hope the majority feel this way too.

Ok well since the thread has been created and things seem to be going much better I am going to unstick this and put up the episode discussion with season 5 premiering so soon I hope everyone can focus more on this than her real life loves

Thank you, Erin! I do hope S5 will bring many topics to talk about and give Nina's personal life at least in the social media a bit of a breather.

If I may...on the topic of some fans not wanting to see Ian or Nina with other ppl...there might be a certain truth to it for a certain fans who cannot distinguish between fiction and rl, but as for certain fans there also might be just a certain personality of the other partner. Let's say if I hear Nina is dating Tom Cruise I would only say Yackies even if I get 101 pictures of them kissing and being happy. If I hear Nina is dating..you guessed it..Chris Pine I would be most happy. The best way to avoid problems is to keep in mind that LL thread was an open discussion thread, Nina/Derek thread is an appreciation thread. So if you don't appreciate them - simply don't go to the thread. The same goes for Ian/Nina thread.
