After watching the finale for the nineteenth time I realized something. Elena was terrified underwater in the car the first time with her parents. The second time she wasn't scared. She was too focused on finding if Matt was still breathing. The people she truly cares about come even before her own life.

I admire Elena for having such a pure heart.
