Paige McCullers is a talented athlete and a star on both Rosewood's varsity field hockey and swim teams. The captain of the swim team, Paige is extremely competative and will go to great lengths to be the best, desiring the coveted position of relay anchor most of all. Prior to Alison DiLaurentis' murder, Paige was involved in an ongoing feud against her, due to Alison's bullying, which culminated in Alison tricking Paige into writing a love letter to Emily, Paige's crush. Humiliated and terrified of being outed, Paige was constantly gay bashed by Alison; she began self-injuring and became suicidal as a result. However, she found the will to live after realizing that killing herself would allow Alison to "win," and Paige couldn't accept that.

After Alison's death, Paige became more of a bully herself, lashing out at Emily when Emily's return to the swim team pulled the spotlight off Paige. However, Paige quickly apologized and the two became friends, which lead to Paige outing herself to Emily by kissing her. The two began dating tentatively, though their relationship was soon ended by Emily, who was frustrated at Paige's constant balking at coming out publicly and to her parents.

In the second season, Paige returned a changed woman. Having come out to her parents and gained much more self-confidence, Paige admitted she was still in love with Emily, but agreed to just be friends, stating that she would always be there for Emily. In the third and current season, Paige continues to grow, attempting to make amends for her past behavior and being a sweet, understanding girlfriend to Emily.

Lindsey Marie Shaw was born in Lincoln, Nebraska. Before relocating to Los Angeles to pursue acting, Lindsey and her mother traveled from Lincoln to Kansas City twice a month to do local print ads and commercials; in 2002, they moved to Los Angeles. Lindsey landed her first big role in Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide, playing Jennifer "Moze" Mosely. She starred in ABC Family's 10 Things I Hate About You, playing the lead role of Kat. Most recently, Lindsey is appearing in ABC Family's Pretty Little Liars as Paige, Emily Field's girlfriend.

And we just felt that it was the ultimate sacrifice for that character to put herself out there because she does recognize the unconditional friendship that those girls have, and that's what we love about Paige ... I just had to post this gif of Paige from the Noir episode in Lindsey's thread. She looked so very lovely in Shadow Play(419) but especially in this side profile shot at the window. JD did an excellent job with the directing. Lindsey did an awesome acting job in the episode as well.

She is so gorgeous! Her profile. Lindsey was amazing in this episode. Her face is so expressive. In the scene with Aria and then again at the window with Emily. Paige was so vulnerable. This tears kill me.
