This is the place to discuss Pretty Little Liars, the first book in the PLL book series.

Everyone has something to hide -
especially high school juniors
Spencer, Aria, Emily and Hanna.

Spencer covets her sister's boyfriend.
Aria's fantasizing about her Englisch teacher.
Emily's crushing on the new girl at school.
And Hanna has some ugly tricks to stay beautiful.
But they've all kept an even bigger secret since their friend Alison vanished.
How do I know?
Because I know everything about the bad girls they were
and the naughty girls they are now.

I'm only halfway through the 1st book, but I really like it. Thing is just that no matter how the describe the girls now, I have Shay, Ashley, Troian and Lucy in my head

Ikr? Everytime I read about Emilys reddish-blond or Spencers dark-blond hair I'm like nooo, thats not how they look

I'd personally prefer a thread for each book because I haven't read them all and I really don't want to be spoiled for the rest, but it may be too much? I don't know, if everyone is okay with just one, I guess I am too

I guess we can see how this goes. It's just that we have 8 books and not everyone has read the books and we don't know how busy the book discussions will be so if it's not all that fast, it wouldn't make sense to split it all up. That's just what I thought.

What I noticed only being halfway through book one, is that Aria is so abdass in the books. And Hanna/Darren make me squee

I can't really remember specific scenes in the books

After having read the first two books I almost prefer everything the way they did it in the books.

Except for Spencer/Wren and the friendship between the four girls, they seem a lot closer in the show

Yeah, I'm halfway through the book and I don't think there were any friendshippy scenes yet. No Emily/Aria at school and no Hanna/Spencer at the mall.

The one thing I like better in the books till now, is Ezra/Aria.

Hee, ditto.. although I think it's easier with Hanna, Spencer and Aria, because they seem mostly the same looks-wise as the show characters, besides Hanna's hair colour. But the Emily in my head changes from Shay to a pale, freckled redhead and it gets confusing

I'm about halfway through book 2 at the moment, and I agree that the lack of friendship scenes is a bit disappointing so far, I'm definitely glad they changed that in the show and brought them together faster! But I much prefer Spencer/Wren and Ezra/Aria in the books so far, I just haven't been able to get into them into the show at all because they're so rushed. At least I understand where the feelings are coming from in the books. ~~Although I still think Wren's a bit of a creep~~

but I guess that's justified because I've heard people say they hope they don't do with Wren in the show what they did with him in the book.. so I'm curious!

I feel like Aria's looks are exactly the same on the show as they are in the books. Character wise I like her much better in the books though.
