I can still kinda of feel cheated wth that ridiculous ending, I just did not like the present day bit I just dont get the reason behind showing us Merlin wondering down a lane in Devon or somewhere, and it is really annoying me.
Couple of weeks before the finale I had started reattaching from S1 and am on S2 somewhere but I cant bring myself to watch anymore now as I know how it all ends and I dont like it  its niggling at me...__________________

Maybe it's just wishful thinking. But since Gwen is the once and future Queen, I believe there's every chance that when Arthur rises again so will she, and they'll be together again.

I think Gwen would of made a very good leader. She proved that by ruling Camelot when Arthur was away on all those quests. That's what use to drive me mad. Why did Arthur have all those knights? I mean I don't remember Uther ever going on a quest, so why was Arthur forever going on them? Surely he was suppose to be the King, but instead they were forever sending him away from Camelot.
The one sad thing is, I don't think Gwen would of lasted long on her own, as leader. Also the fact that there was no heir, it kind of indicates that Camelot disappears, quite soon after Arthur dies. Which goes to prove that Merlin's main motives were for Arthur rather than Camelot itself, otherwise he'd of returned there after Arthur's death. Sometimes I think a better way of doing a dark Gwen arc would have been if instead of being brainwashed maybe Elyan's death made her more vigilant and ruthless towards those with magic, and for a while she looks as though she's turning into Uther. But it wouldn't last obviously.
Sometimes the best kinds of storylines where a good character goes down a dark path are good because they do it of their own free will. I'm sorry, but the whole EvilGwen thing in season 5 just felt so forced. Just another threat for Merlin to deal with, and zero character development for Gwen. __________________
