I found the adults on the Ark to be so childish and even worse than the teenagers. They would cause problems for sure.

Writers and directors work together to make something apparent to the audience so imo there is no way this is fan service...

I saw in the last thread there was some discussion about whether or not Bellarke was planned from the beginning. .I actually think they were. I mean, think about it. All of this first season was filmed last year with no fan reactions or feedback to encourage it. And look at all the amazing scenes we've gotten! It's quite telling IMO. I don't particularly think their intentions were to go towards full blown romance this season obviously BUT they have been developing ground work for Bellarke since the pilot. That's no coincidence. This show may have started out hinting towards Finn/Clarke and then brought Raven in but think about who has shared the more memorable scenes. The scenes with most value. Off the top of my head I can think of maybe 2 scenes with Finn/Clarke that were blatantly romantic. But as for Bellarke, they've had at least one important scene in every single episode. The episode that made me definitely stop questioning the writers' intent for Bellarke was 1x08 of course. They could've had any other characters go on this Day Trip but they chose Bellarke. And of course the gun scene was an obvious "potential romance" sign. They didn't have to have Bellamy act like that. But they did which tells me they have a plan for Bellarke in the future.

And actually Eliza and Bob are really the only ones who have expressed how surprised they are over the reaction. Jason had never really said he's surprised, he just keeps throwing in there that the show is about survival first and foremost. I think if anything, they're just surprised at how quickly fans caught on to Bellarke. Not because they weren't in the cards.

I completely agree with all of this... Especially the bold.. I think some times writers arent given enough credit for their long game... They plant seeds for things which could happen seasons away and I love that...

The fact that Finn/Clarke happened for me was a way for the writers to show her softer side.. If they threw her with Bellamy straight away it wouldnt have felt organic and natural... Imo Clarke had to have a connection with someone else, someone thats completely opposite to Bellamy... This way she can fully appreciate Bellamy and see him for who he really is... There was no way Bellarke were going to be together from the start but this is how the best love stories start in my opinion... A bit of conflict and opposing sexual tension never hurt anyone

I think the people in charge have been doing a lot of chem testing between the main and secondary characters to get a feel of who they want to pair up. At this point in the game the writers want to make the fans happy so I definitely think they will go with a popular pairing like Bellarke for next season. Usually the two people who have the most angst towards each other end up together anyway. Opposites attract. LOL

Favourite Bellarke moment thus far? Mine is Bellamy saving Clarke from the Grounder. The way she whips around to see who saved her and him standing there.

I loved that moment when he saved her life with one shot! It's also one of my favorites!

That new git set with Bob and Eliza, where is that from? Is there a video clip of it?

And following on the discussion, I'm sure the writers planned on Bellarke since day one.

I specifically remember one director saying that he noticed the Bob/Eliza chemistry from the cuts in the PILOT. And that's when they barely even interacted.

Episode 8 basically proved that they were planned. NO WAY could that "shooting lesson" scene be interpreted in just platonic terms. At that point, they had no idea how the fans would react.

I honestly think the ONLY surprise is how quickly the fans fell in love with them. Remember that this is a journey. Bellamy started out as kind of a bad guy but as episodes went on, he was developed into an amazing hero in a way. And that will continue.

So I'm sure Bellarke was planned, but they probably thought the fans would like them LATER as the episodes were aired. Not in episode 1 or 2 for example!

We've been getting extra amazing scenes with them in episodes 7-9. Filled with amazing material. I mean, the guy cried in front of her in episode 8.

And I've heard that we will be happy with episode 10 as well. So their build up will continue.

I actually shipped them in the promos! Finn didn't look interesting at all to me. But there was something about Bellamy! I thought he looked unique! And since Clarke was the main girl, I was hoping she'd be with Bellamy!

Yes! I loved those scenes as well. I mean, look at that goofy smile on his face when he's talking to her.

The emotional scene was even better. He actually broke down in front of her because he just couldn't hold in his grief any longer. And this is not something Bellamy does. Certainly not in front of anybody.

I actually never saw any promos because I only starting watching last week.

I randomly stumbled across a fanvideo of them on YT if you can believe it.

I just thought they were spellbounding. Wasn't sure if I shipped them at that point, but watching the first few episodes pretty much sealed it.

Kind of weird because that's never happened to me before. I don't ship a whole lot of couples. My list is pretty small.

See, that's why I think people should appreciate Bellarke fans more! We're doing so much of our own promotion for the show via our fan videos and gif sets!

That's a beautiful one!

I've had fans mention on my fan videos that they've never seen the show but love the pairing mainly because of how he looks at her. So they asked me what the name of the show is and checked it out!

Bellarke fan videos are a GREAT way to promote the show!

What exactly attracted you to them in that fan video? You could already sense their chemistry without watching the show???
