I wonder why they never went there. The ending of season 4 heavily implied they'd be co-leaders in space. I think Bob or Raven said in interviews they would partner up in space.

It was very strange. I didn't hear of any rewrites for season 5 but it does seem (based on those interview bits) that it was planned before but abruptly changed when they wrote s5. I wonder why.

Maybe, someone should ask Bob and/or Lindsey that at conventions.

I was on my tumblr page for the first time in years andf somebody reblogged and reminded me of a text post about what Bob had said at Conaggeddon regarding season 5/Raven and it included this:

Bob mentioned that Bellamy and Raven were co-captains in space and ran the whole thing together.

Exactly, and it wouldn’t even have taken that more screentime to convey that they were partners in space. Yet another regret re this show, I suppose.

sometimes I feel like the writers of this show don't take a step back and like, look at the big picture to see how something will show overtime...and/or they think we will forget random lines like "always"? I don't know.

I have no clue. Sometimes they have to change plans but I doubt having them be a team would have changed anything for the general season 5 storyline.

I think that a large part of the issue was the writers room reshuffle (coupled with Aaron and the original, quality producers leaving) ... it all affected continuity and general quality of the episodes. So, I wouldn’t be surprised if one of the “casualties” were Bellamy and Raven’s relationship up in space.

Wasn't he still on as EP in season 5? I think the reshuffle of the team happened between season 5 and 6.

Well, sort of. Aaron left after 5x03 so he wasn’t part of the creative team for most of s5. And it clearly showed in the show quality after that.

Season 4 had some good Bellamy/Raven content. Bellamy deciding to go after Raven.
