Agree to disagree there. But it’s actually one of the episodes of the season where I’ve been able to empathize with Octavia a bit more.

Until now, there are only parts of 5x02 where I'm able to empathize with Octavia and her reunion hug with Bellamy in 5x04 was great ... that's all __________________

I agree that the physical elements of the fight was great and we can see Bellamy starting to stand up to his sister (though again I wish that it was for himself and not someone else ... but I’ll take what I can get ).

Him standing up to her there was really only the prelude to him standing up to her in 5x08, though.

If your boyfriend would stand up for you, that would suck? I don't think so! __________________

It's not really about Bellamy defending his girlfriend. It's the fact that Octavia was the victim of her multiple times, and he brushes off the fact that she's still upset. Bellamy has plenty of reasons to confront Octavia about her past behavior over the years, but this is something she actually has a right to be mad about. He states that it took him 3 years to forgive Echo up in space, but insists that Octavia should let it go immediately. I'm not saying that Octavia should have banished her, but all of her concerns regarding Echo during their fight were very valid. She doesn't know this new Echo so she has no reason to trust her. |

and I love him for defending her that's exactly what I expect from a man in a romantic relationship and that's what I would do for the man I love so it makes me very angry, if someone says that it sucks when Bellamy stands up for Echo and I have to defend him! __________________

That scene should have been about Bellamy standing up for himself against Octavia, not him defending Echo. Period. The first time we get to see that, and it's about someone else.

Frankly, Bellamy brushing off Octavia's concerns about his now girlfriend bugged me because really dude, she tried killing her twice so I feel Octavia here. I wouldn't have forgiven her instantly either and he expected her to do it after reuniting with him for a few days? Really now. I have issues with Octavia's general treatment of Bellamy but I can't fault her here. Agreed that she should not have banished her immediately but I have no issue with how she acted, other than that. __________________

Thank you Tara and Sarah
Octavia's treated Bellamy like crap and now when we finally get him standing up, if it's not at all about him/them. It''s about someone else, who btw, could have defended herself. __________________

And I'm still proud of Bellamy that he stood up for the woman he loves first
because that totally fits to his character ... to stand up for the people he loves first and that's the reason why I love his character so much __________________

To me, the Blakes relationship is the second most crucial relationship on the show (regardless of how painful this dynamic is to me, right now) so I prioritise Bellamy putting his own well being over someone else's, when it comes to defending himself against Octavia's behaviour. Having said that, Bellamy prioritising people that he cares about/love is in line with his personality so far but I still wish that it didn't play out as it did. That's all I will say on that.

And I like Bellamy exactly how he is ... selfless and protective
and I hope he will never change his priorities __________________

Well, let’s call a stone a stone here, too: Obviously people who aren’t a fan of Echo or Bellamy’s relationship with her aren’t going to love that he stood up for her. I mean, I get it, and I think it’s in character, and I am glad that he is a good boyfriend, but I don’t like the person he’s standing up for. And I would have rather he stood up for himself. So yeah, the context of the scene was not great for me. But like I said, it was a prelude to 5x08, which is where he REALLY stood up to her.
