Listen, I’ve shipped Bellarke since Day 1, and at this point I’m really sick of being gaslighted by JR. If Bellarke was never supposed to be romantic, then he shouldn’t have played it that way. Of course, I think Bellarke was intended to be a slowburn romance until JR decided to play with the new shiny toy, Clexa. Then, for whatever reason, he totally plays to that fandom while being a complete jerk to Bellarke fans. I mean Becho? Really? What? Why? That’s as stupid as Clexa. Clexa and Becho were neither one organic, but JR pushed them anyway. At this point, Bellarke not happening seems to be totally inorganic and go against what has been shown on screen, it JR seems bound and determined to make sure they never happen.

SassyCat, you’re entitled to your own opinions and feelings, so leave the show behind if you choose. But please note that there are a lot of people who are active posters in this thread who are trying to make sure it remains a positive place and are trying to look ahead with some kind of hope. So just speaking for myself and not anyone else . . . posts like this make it kind of hard to do so. I’m not trying to tell you to feel differently, but I’m just trying to be honest about how reading posts like this makes me feel. The doom and gloom mentality is why I left Twitter and is one of the things I (and others) am trying to leave behind.

(Maybe we really could use a rant thread, mods. I know the idea was floated around at one point this season.)

In different news . . . I am so close to the end of my fic, it’s ridiculous. Only a few chapters left. I’m kind of hoping I can finish it by Friday so I can begin re-reading and editing this weekend, and then post it soon!

SassyCat, you’re entitled to your views on this and honestly, I can understand that line of thinking in some ways but yes, do know that people here might feel differently about that. I’m in between, not very hopeful but have not completely lost faith in Bellarke yet and think that they might still be canon in the end.

Having said that, let’s not try to police other people’s thoughts in here though ... if people need to vent, so be it. I don’t think that it should be a totally negative place where we are bitching about the storyline and how the Bellarke relationship turned out this season but I totally get why people feel this way after what we got in season 5. So maybe letting it out is cathartic?

April, I’ll speak to Lisa about a rant thread but I personally prefer not to have one. But let’s see what the majority says.

I’m not trying to police anyone’s thoughts, but let’s bear in mind that the reason why we all love this thread and FF in general is that we do have a different posting atmosphere than a place like Twitter does, and I think it’s important that we keep it that way.

I was against a rant thread at first, too, but seeing how many very upset posts have been dropped into this thread this season and how it has, at times, affected the overall tone of the thread, it might not be a bad idea. Plus, I could use it to post some of my more unfiltered thoughts about Becho and Echo. I just don’t feel right posting that kind of thing in here.

I do too, don’t get me wrong but maybe if certain posts are upsetting (I know the same is true for me sometimes too), we can just move on and not comment on it unless you have something else to add to the convo. People here are still generally more positive about the show/Bellarke so a vent or two sometimes doesn’t hurt. As long as it doesn’t get into bashing territory or when it’s toxic like how it is on Twitter, just IMO.

I just feel like having a venting thread is akin to having an anti thread or sorts (which some boards have and it works in some cases, I agree) but I just feel like it’ll fester negative thoughts and resentment on the board when people who don’t have the same views visit that thread.

Re: rant thread...It's up to you guys since I'm not around that often. I know it was a hard season for Bellamy/Clarke. For me, knowing that exists is bad for my mental health because I know I'd be tempted to lurk through it. It would bring me down. I avoid going to couples board most of the time because there's an anti ship thread. I am frustrated with the show and the writers but I do believe in Bellamy and Clarke.

I don’t even know how often a rant thread would get used, tbh. I mean, the one on Bob’s board isn’t used much, but it did get resurrected this season. But having just one thread for that could be better than having posts dropped into other threads all across the board. I don’t know, just an idea. Like I said, I was opposed to it for a long while, but now I see some potential benefits.

I want more SEXY fan art. Because for the fic I’ll start writing after I finish Lost Is Where I’m Found, there’s gonna be a lot of sex just like Eventually. Fan art serves as good inspiration.

I just don’t see that the posts are overly negative right now that it necessitates a rant thread but that’s just me. And it seems to be mainly in this thread if it does happen. If the majority wants it, we can open it up, I think. And again, it doesn’t always need to be positive in here.

I know what you mean about the anti thread, Adie. I feel that way too, I used to post there but it just made me anxious to go in there and see my favourite ships so I’ve avoided it for a few years now (mostly). But I do still like posting on that board, still.

Oh yes, we totally need more drawings like that one. There’s a lot of talented fans on Tumblr so I hope that they continue to produce more drawings like that.

SassyCat I get your disappointment and frustration. I understand where InfoBellarke and LifeIsBellarke are coming from. I think making the decision to part ways which you've dedicated so much time to is a difficult one BUT has to be done for one's own wellbeing sometimes.

I wish those leaving would be pleasantly surprised at some point or that if Bellarke doesn't happen they walked away at a good enough to avoid more hurt.

They are hilarious. Especially the air one.

Quick question: would you guys take no romance happening OR an episode which is just like a mini Bellarke movie, where they finally admit they are in love, have one amazing night but when faced with reality of their endless dangerous they decide they can't be together?

Yeah, I think my perception of overly negative posts is slightly different, which is why I wanted to suggest it again. You guys know that gloomy mentalities are hard for me to deal with and that’s one of the reasons why I got off Twitter and just post here now. Let’s just monitor it for now and bear in mind how it affects the tone of the thread and maybe revisit the idea later if we have to?

Someone reached out to me about doing Eventually fan art on Tumblr, but that was a long time ago. And now I can’t remember my Tumblr password.

Agreed, when it's creating more anger/disappointment than happiness, it's time to take a step back and put yourself first.

I would take the second option, hands down. At least, we could get one amazing episode of Bellarke canon scenes. And also, it's something which would be realistic? Them wanting to be together at that time, but circumstances not allowing them to.
