TFTNT! :flowers: Man, it feels like it’s been ages since I’ve posted. Late to the party, as usual
I’ve only skimmed through the pages since the finale aired (I’ve pretty much given up on ever truly catching up  ) so I’ll probably be repeating stuff that’s been said. Oh well. :D
First of all, I really don’t understand how anyone is disappointed in the finale. But then I didn’t read anything about interviews or comments from cast/crew about the finale so I really went in with no idea what to expect.
And what we got in terms of Bellarke was absolute GOLD.
First of all his statement that he believes her - well of course he does. He KNOWS Clarke. He knows she’s not wanting to go into the City of Light for a walkabout. He knows she’s been fighting tooth and nail to protect the Flame and use it to stop ALIE. He knows her strength. She let her mother hang for crying out loud. His belief in her in that moment is equal to his trust in her.
His quip, “Hey, try doing that hanging upside down” was really quite awesome I think. Sure he was trying to lighten the moment, but it was also his way of saying, “You’ve got this. I’ve been there and survived. You will too.”
And the handholding. :sigh: What I loved most about that was that Clarke had to reach for Bellamy’s hand. It wasn’t simply a matter of her grabbing his hand. But she reached for him, he sensed her reaching for him then gave her his hand. So symbolic of their relationship as a whole. Neither simply takes comfort or support from the other. They seek each other out knowing the other is there then come together.
In the final moment with the two of them standing by the thrown together there was a part of me that wanted a hug - especially after Murphy/Emori and Kane/Abby got one. But I was totally fine with them not hugging. The other two were coming back together after being apart. Bellamy and Clarke had their hug and have been together for several episodes now.
It was reminiscent of 2x16 for me. In that these two just overcame horrific odds to save their people. Now they stand together and look at others' reunions resulting from their hard work and sacrifice. But this time Clarke stays by Bellamy’s side. She’s not leaving him again. I daresay she will never voluntarily leave his side again.
As for the script reaffirming Bellamy and Clarke’s motif of “together” as well as Bellamy being her strength, well of course. ;) Since season one Clarke has not hesitated to admit her need for Bellamy. She regularly acknowledges the strength he provides her. Nothing she has accomplished since crashing to Earth would have been possible if not for him. She knows that will continue to be true. ALIE talks to her of not needing to bear the burden of these decisions. This parallels so nicely with 2x16. Bellamy told her she didn’t have to face it alone - “What WE did.” But she couldn’t accept that. She tried to be alone, and now she's come full circle. She knows she can no longer run. She knows Bellamy is there - “WE will.”

Wow, perfect post as always Kenni!
Like you said the Bellarke was definitely all over this season finale. It wasn't obviously romantic (but it's too soon for that), it wasn't completely obvious, but it was there. Clarke was able to do what needed to be done because even if Bellamy wasn't there phisycally, he was there spiritually, and this gave her the strenght she needed. Bellamy was able to do what he needed to do outside the COL, not worrying for Clarke excessively, because he believes in her. He knows she would have been victorious in the end, because she always is. He said to Pike he doesn't know what to believe anymore, but it's not true. He believes in Clarke and always will. They chose each other in this season finale. It wasn't clearly stated but it was there.
