The only way I see Chad possibly betraying the Resistance at this point is if this show goes all wonky with a redemption theme for the villain - Anna. In that case, I can see Chad making an argument down the road that Anna has changed and that he's seen the differences for himself by working 'from the inside.' If not, I don't know what would make Chad 'turn back' at this point. I think it's possible the writers dropped that avenue because Chad turning back is kind of predicatable in and of itself. That's why I was wondering if they'd have Ryan permanently 'defect' instead, because of his daughter. I think most people would be expecting him to come back around eventually even if he did 'turn' for awhile to save his daughter but maybe they won't and Chad will stay loyal to the Resistance.

If the writers have really chosen to change the traitor storyline from Chad to Ryan because of perceived predictability then I sadly have to say they have made a terrible choice because having the lone Fifth Column V on the ground turn into full-blown traitor just sends a horrible message for the overall story they're telling.

I do believe we are safe of any potential Chad betrayals for this season at least, but if he has to get physically close to Anna to stay in the loop, I could see it backfire on him and he may start to develop some real feelings for her. If that happens then he will probably switch sides one more time.

Having Ryan as the V traitor does send a horrible message. It wouldn't have been that 'bad' if they had taken the time to interweave more important Fifth Column V's into our thriving resistance story but since they didn't ...

Maybe Chad will get the goods from Anna on Ryan and be able to give the Resistance a 'heads up' on what information Ryan has been feeding her?!

I think that's actually a very interesting idea, but I doubt it will happen. It's kinda a shame that Lisa doesn't know Ryan yet. If she did, she could tip everyone else off about his whereabouts.

True. Without Joshua, it just feels like Ryan has the free reign. Chad will be the only real one on the inside who can maybe track Ryan. Lisa's there but it would be a bit harder for her to constantly be reporting to the ground resistance as a V herself.

I actually wouldn't be against her becoming a recurring character. We could use a couple more female characters and she seemed nice enough. I just don't want any more meaningless human/human relationships on the show.
