I was wondering do we want to open a celebration thread this time?

I think we should have one seeing that it will be our last one.

I actually already put up a request for a banner on the graphics board. I just hope my request will be completed before our board reaches the 50k milestone.

I have no problems having a final celebration for the 50K milestone.

The few of us here can do a testimonial if we want, might not have the arts we'd like, but that's okay.

As for reaching the 50K milestone, Jerry said to PM him when we hit it, right?! If we're still waiting for the banner just to complete the celebration and it's not too far away, it wouldn't be an issue to keep the board going just until the celebration, even if it's a little over the milestone?!! Just wondering how that would work, or does the board automatically get closed when we hit that number?!

We have to send him a PM after we reach the 50k milestone, but I don't know if the board gets closed straight away. Doesn't it usually stay open for a couple more days before it gets closed for good?

Oh, and do we want to have 2 separate threads (50k celebration thread and a goodbye thread) or just put it all together in 1 big thread?

I think we will have to keep the board open a little bit longer. We are less than 200 posts away from the 50k mark and I really don't think my request for a banner will get completed in the next couple of days.

It's been taking incredibly long this time. I already requested it at the end of August.

And I think 2 threads would probably be better. Maybe instead of putting the testimonial in the 50k thread, we could post it as part of the board closure notice, but I guess that would probably depend on the content of the testimonial.

yeah, the board is reaching 50K pretty quickly - so, in order to complete the celebration and have the good-bye thread opened, we'd need some more time for it.

I'm fine with two threads, I actually wouldn't even mind writing one testimonial in honor of the 50K and a second one in response to the closing of the board. They don't have to be long or anything and of course, what others would prefer to do is completely up to them.
