I don't want Kat to figure it out on her own to get in trouble. That's not who she is, if she's her own girl she isn't going to get in trouble, but with Patrick she usually end up in trouble without even meaning to. That's who she is with him, without him she's a different girl. Like Priya said, he does give her the last push needed.

Getting in trouble and having fun are two different things. Kat's version of fun is different to the pre-conceived concept. She enjoys her little things, like her moms records and playing her scrabble without the bastardized American version of spelling, her protests and such. Whatever she's passionate about creates a joy to her, she's shown that alot.

Exactly. She doesn't need Patrick for that, but with him she can have fun doing other things, she can get into trouble b/c/for him, which isn't even a bad thing. She left school for him but b/c it made her stick to her beliefs instead of letting it go b/c of others. It got her detention sure, but for the right reasons.

^ Yes! That's what I think, that suspension was because she stuck to her grounds with the help of Patrick. Also she's always gotten in trouble with him because of her own self. She throws a trash can on him because she went too far, she sneaks out to see a gig of her favourite band because she wants to spend time with Patrick as well as show she knows about her band, etc. She's doing it for herself as much as with Patrick for me.

That's b/c we are talking about GETTING INTO TROUBLE. She doesn't need Patrick to do anything else, but she likes him, which makes her want to do things with him. She can get into trouble on her own, but what's the point? That's not who she is.

Then i don't think I bought my opinion across well as it's not what I meant. I'm sure I stated that i didn't think she needed a push all the time. The TV Kat isn't as bitchy and strong minded as Movie Kat though, so you can see a clear difference and I personally think that alot of the time, without even having to do anything, just being there, Patrick brings a side out of her. It's not uncommon either. She may be badass but she aint immune to dudes

Priya my friend you are right. There are clear differences between the two, and that is one of them. In the show you can see that Kat goes more with her heart and not so much with her head, like when she walked out knowing that her dad told her to back down and the implications of her doing it, she still did it and left with Patrick; like you said even she is not immune to dudes, more specifically to the schools resident bad boy.

and Maurice see the movie!!!!!

I'm not even comparing movie and show in general, it's just, if you wanna see a proper strong minded girl, the movie Kat is way more headstrung than this Kat, so seeing that difference, you see more of her weak points. Again, this is all about her human emotions, they're very strong.

And in general, it's not even about boys. It happens to be something Patrick does that makes her take that leap to stay true to herself. She gets in trouble because she doesn't believe in the norm. That's why it happens, I thought that was one of the most clear things about Kat, she, as well as Patrick, are against the norm and that doesn't go with society.

Very insightful and true indeed. They are truely against the norm, they fight so much against being you average highschool kid, and that is what she sees in Patrick, he stands for what he believes in whether he stands alone or with someone.
