Hi, discussion about "friends"

Hello, I'm new here.
I would like to write my thoughts on the show.
In my opinion, the show was great in the first 4 seasons, really great, funny, fun to watch. but from the 5th season it has really changed, most of the time it's not funny, and one thing I really notice is what happaned to Monica's character0 Courtney Cox stopped acting! It's really weird, she was great at first but if notice from the 5 season she doe'snt even try to act, she always has a smile on her face without any connectin to what she says. Does anyone else think that?

Hmm, to each her own, but IMO the show started for me in season five. The first four seasons took me months to watch on Netflix, but I've watched season 5-7 in a matter of days. Monica changed in season 5 when she started dating Chandler, but I see it as she became her real self. She didn't have to put on an act anymore. To me, she was more mature when she was with Richard and the other guys because she had to put on a facade of who she was. With Chandler, she could just be herself.

At least that's how I see it. I love Chandler and Monica together, so I love the show more starting at season 5. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, though.

And yeah, Monica smiles more when she gets together with Chandler, but I see that is because she's so much happier being with Chandler than she was before they got together. Courteney has a beautiful smile so it's nice to see, IMO.

There are very few moments between the series premiere and TOW Phoebe's Uterus in season 4 that I like. After that point (well, beginning with TOW Girl from Poughkeepsie, which is where I begin watching) the show's quality gets a hell lot better.

Courteney had to act because she probably didn't have intense chemistry with the guy that played Richard and Pete and whoever the hell else. But with Matthew Perry, it was just natural... She didn't have to act, it came naturally for her because she just had chemistry with him.

Wow really, can I ask why you didn't like the earlier season so much?

For me I much prefer seasons 1-5 than 6 -10. I still love the later seasons though. The earlier seasons for me were a lot funnier.
I agree Courteney and Matthews chemistry was I think she had chemistry with tom selleck (Richard) but not at all with Jon favreau (Pete)

For me all 6 actors were incredible throughout the entire show.
