Monica: Only here.
Chandler: Y’know, I saw a wine cellar downstairs…
Monica: I’ll meet you there in two minutes.
Chandler: Okay!

Monica: Right. Umm, listen since we’re-we-re on that subject,
umm, I just wanted to tell you that uh, well, I-I was going through
a really hard time in London, what with my brother getting married and
that guy thinking I was Ross’s mother…
Chandler: Right.
Monica: Well, an-anyway, I just—that night meant a lot to me, I guess
I’m just trying to say thanks.
Chandler: Oh. Y’know, that night meant a lot to me too, and it wasn’t
because I was in a bad place or anything, it just meant a lot to me
‘cause, you’re really hot! Is that okay?
Monica: (laughs) That’s okay.
Chandler: And I’m cute too.
Monica: And you’re cute too.
Chandler: Thank you! (They hug.) All right, I gotta go unpack.
Monica: Okay.
Chandler: Bye.
(After he closes the door, Monica starts to follow him, but thinks
better of it and stops.)
Chandler: (entering) I’m still on London time, does that count?
Monica: That counts!
Chandler: Oh, good! (They start kissing.)

Chandler: So, are you really gonna go out with that nurse man?
Monica: Well uh, you and I are just goofing around, I thought,
why not goof around with him.
Chandler: Y'know, I don't know if you've ever looked up the term
goofing around in the dictionary… Well, I have, and the technical
definition is, two friends who care a lot about each other and have
amazing sex and just wanna spend more time together. But if you
have this new fangled dictionary that gets you made at me, then we
have to, y'know, get you my original dictionary. I am so bad at this.
Monica: I think you're better than you think you are.

(There's a knock on the door and Chandler gets up to answer it.
He opens the door to reveal Monica with a turkey over her head.)
Chandler: Nice try.
Monica: Wait, wait, wait! (She puts a Shriner's hat on the turkey.)
Chandler: Look, Monica…
Monica: Look! (She puts a big, yellow pair of sunglasses on the bird.)
Chandler: This is not going to work.
Monica: I bet this will work! (She starts dancing and Chandler cracks up.)
Chandler: You are so great! I love you!
(Monica stops suddenly and turns around slowly.)
Monica: What?
Chandler: Nothing! I said, I said "You're so great" and then I just,
I just stopped talking!
Monica: You said you loved me! I can't believe this!
Chandler: No I didn't!
Monica: Yes, you did!
Chandler: No I didn't!
Monica: You love me!
Chandler: No I don't! Stop it! Stop it! Stop it! Stop it!

Chandler: Okay! Okay! Okay! You win! You win!! I can't have sex
with ya!
Phoebe: And why not?!
Chandler: Because I'm in love with Monica!!
Phoebe: You're-you're what?!
(Monica comes out of the bathroom like a bolt, and Rachel and
Joey both enter.)
Chandler: Love her! That's right, I…LOVE…HER!!! I love her!!
(They walk together and hug.) I love you, Monica.
Monica: I love you too Chandler. (They kiss.)

Chandler: (entering, slowly) Y’know I was thinking, what if I uh,
unpack here?
Monica: Then all your stuff would be here.
Chandler: Well, what if all my stuff was here?
Monica: Then you’d be going back and forth all the time, I mean
it doesn’t make any sense.
Chandler: Okay. What if we lived together and you understand
what I’m saying?
Monica: Live together? There have been no signs for that.
Chandler: Me asking is kind of a sign.
Monica: YES!!!!!!!!
Chandler: Okay!!!!!

Monica: Chandler… In all my life… I never thought I would be
so lucky. (Starting to cry.) As to…fall in love with my best…my best…
There’s a reason why girls don’t do this!
Chandler: Okay! (He joins her on one knee) Okay! Okay! Oh God,
I thought… (Starting to cry, pauses) Wait a minute, I-I can do this.
(Pause) I thought that it mattered what I said or where I said it.
Then I realized the only thing that matters is that you, (Pause)
you make me happier than I ever thought I could be.
(Starting to cry again.) And if you’ll let me, I will spend the rest
of my life trying to make you feel the same way. (Pause as he
gets out the ring.) Monica, will you marry me?
Monica: Yes.

Monica: Chandler, for so long I…I wondered if I would ever
find my prince, my soul mate. Then three years ago, at another
wedding I turned to a friend for comfort. And in stead, I found
everything that I’d ever been looking for my whole life. And now…
here we are…with our future before us…and I only want to spend
it with you, my prince, my soul mate, my friend. Unless you
don’t want to. You go!
Chandler: Monica, I thought this was going to be the most
difficult thing I ever had to do. But when I saw you walking
down that aisle I realized how simple it was. I love you. Any
surprises that come our way it’s okay, because I will always
love you. You are the person I was meant to spend the rest of
my life with. You wanna know if I’m sure? (He leans in and kisses her.)

Monica: Of course it is not good news, you just said (deadpan)
"Doctor Connelly just called". If it was good news you would
have said (excitedly) "Doctor Connelly just called! " But so what
is it? Is there a problem, uh? Is there a problem with me or with you?
Chandler: Actually it's both of us.
Monica: What?
Chandler: Apparently my sperm have low motility and you
have an inhospitable environment.
Monica: Oh... what does that mean?
Chandler: It means that my guys won't get off their
barcaloungers and you have a uterus that is prepared to
kill the ones that do. (pause) It means...
Monica: Chandler?
Chandler: (seriously) It means that we can keep trying,
but there's a good chance this may never happen for us.
Monica: (weeping) Oh my God!
Chandler: I'm sorry.
Monica: I'm sorry too.
(they hug)
Chandler: Well, we're gonna... we're gonna figure this out.
Monica: (still weeping) I know.

Chandler: (to Monica) Look! Look! Look what the... Look what...
Look what the floating heads did!
Monica: (very emotional) I don't care.
(Chandler can't believe what he's hearing. He looks at
Monica, then at the others, then back at Monica.)
Chandler: What's going on?
Monica: That was the adoption agency...
Chandler: And?
Monica: WE'RE GETTING A BABY!
Chandler: Are you serious? (they hug)

Chandler (about Monica): My wife's an incredible woman.
She's loving and devoted and caring. And don't tell her I
said this but the woman's always right... I love my wife more
than anything in this world. And I... It kills me that I can't
give her a baby... I really want a kid. And when that day finally
comes, I'll learn how to be a good dad. But my wife...
she's already there. She's a mother... without a baby... Please?

Chandler: You still want that baby?
(Monica plays those words back in her mind and then
smiles and runs to Chandler, who is twisting with joy. They hug.)
Monica: God bless you Chandler Bing!

Oh can I be added to the list? I love these two. I remember watching the London episodes and being slightly taken aback on how Monica kissed him out of nowhere.

To be honest, at first I wasn't too fond of them together romantically because they only seemed as if they just wanted to sleep around. But I saw the progression C/M went through and they stuck together.

i got a question? how did you all react in the season 4 finale when they revealed that monica and chandler slept together?

to this day, i think that was the best season finale ever! with ross saying the wrong name

and then chandler and monica, lol. it was the biggest shocker.

i remember that my jaw literally dropped and screamed from shock, hehe. i was so excited and i totally didn't see it coming.

did anyone see it coming BTW?

No I didn't see it coming, and to be perfectly honest when the S4 finale first aired I didn't think Monica was good enough for Chandler(I shipped Randler at the time). Don't know when my change of heart came but I know by the time The One Hundredth aired I would have been devastated if they ever broke up.

I had watched a few episodes from S2, then the channel stopped airing and I only had a chance to catch up with the show from S7, so everything had already happened. I was surprised to see them together, but it wasn't a shock, since I didn't know much about the characters at that point. But I bet many people were shocked to see them in that hotel room

I don't know. It wasn't so much as a shock, just a surprise, really. 'Cause if you see all the happenings on the prior seasons, you can see how much they were always there for each other, and how they cared for the other one. I always thought their relationship could go over to something more meaninful, but we already had RnR, so it would be weird to have another couple there. But it really wasn't, and the way it started.. just friends with benefits.. and how they found out they really couldn't stay aways from each other...

Monica/Chandler were one of favorite t.v couples especially since they are probably of the only main couple I know who never had a break up. With the London I actually didn't watch the friends episodes in order only by reruns so I knew about it before I see it. I wasen't suprised they were friends who cared about each other

I've been on a Friends kick for the past week and have rediscovered my love for Chandler/Monica. Can I be added to the list?

On first viewing, yes it was a big shock. But upon rewatching, I think the beginning of season 4 with Chandler bugging Monica about whether he was a boyfriend material and her saying that he'll always be the guy that peed on her was a pretty big clue. Not to mention the subtle hints in previous seasons that there could be something more there.

What I'm still suprised about honestly, is that they had Monica reciprocate deep feelings for Chandler so fast. To me it always seemed like Chandler had a bit of a crush on Monica. Not full blown romantic feelings but you know, one of those tiny crushes? I've been rewatching seasons 5+ mostly so I'm a bit fuzzy on the earlier seasons but Chandler always seemed to be more in tune with Monica than the other girls. I just watched the season 3 ep, The One with the Flashback and it struck me that he comforted her in a very boyfriend-like way.

With Monica however, while she has also had moments of being there for Chandler, I can't clearly remember a time before season 5 that she could possibly have had romantic feelings for Chandler stewing inside somewhere that she doesn't know of yet. This was, however, retconned in the season 5 Thanksgiving ep where it turns out that Monica was attracted to Chandler when they first met and Chandler inadvertently became the catalyst to Monica losing weight and eventually becoming a chef. It's sweet and I do like the ep but the chef thing on top of the weight thing plus the instant crush seems a bit heavy handed. It's like the writers were suddenly trying to write DESTINY all over C/M like they did with R/R and I feel it's unnecessary because I like the original premise of two platonic extremely close friends falling in love. Giving Monica an unrequited high school crush on Chandler gave them more similarity to R/R which is weird since it's pretty obvious that this relationship was conceived and then written to contrast them. Anyways, now I'm just rambling.

You have a great point. I think it was a bit unnecessary to create the sense of history between them, cause their story was awesome the way it happened. Two best friends falling in love. Couldn't be any more perfect?
