At the moment I'm cooking some penne rigate for a pasta salad. It was in a proper Italian packet, made in Italy.

I'm glad you went for the real deal.

Pasta salad is delicious - what are you putting in it? I love it with black olives, tomatoes, fresh mozzarella cut in tiny cubes, and a lot of arugula.

I had sweet corn and tuna mixed with creme fraiche. It was very tasty. I love the sound of your one. I love those flavours.

I did something else Italian. I watched the Monza Grand Prix. It was a good race but I wish Button had got points. I'm pleased Rosberg won. I prefer him to Hamilton.

I watched part of the latest race, too, with my dad. We hadn't done that in a while! I wish we weren't at the hospital while doing so, but at least he had a good distraction for a couple of hours
I have a soft spot for Button, too bad luck is rarely on his side.

I was worried that my version of the pasta wasn't Italian enough for this thread. I think I saved myself by the Monza mention.

I am frustrated by the lack of luck for Button. He will be sitting out the 2017 season but hopefully he will be racing again in 2018.

Sorry about the double post but I have Italian food news. I just heard a traffic report that there was a spillage on the road of pasta and tomato sauce. The waste!

Noooo, all that poor food!
And don't worry, I'm not that radical when it comes to recipes and ingredients. The only thing I hate is how many times they try to sell as Italian/made in Italy things whose quality and origins have nothing of Italian inside.

Poor Button, I was hoping he wouldn't have to take a break. This sport has become as fickle with pilots as football is with it's players.

Button thinks he is driving better than ever now so it's a shame he's taking a break.

Yesterday I had a beef meatball and bolognese sauce pizza. It was gorgeous. It actually was produced and packaged in Italy but I don't know if he ingredients were Italian.

I never tried that pizza topping - doesn't exactly sound very light.
I adore vegetables on pizza - mushrooms, eggplants, bell peppers...

We need to get filthy rich and give Button his own racing car.

Do you have any other pilot or team you root for?

Yes we should get Button his own car.

I'm very fond of Raikkonen. I also like Massa, Alonso, Palmer and I prefer Rosberg to Hamilton. I tried to like Hamilton because he's British but I don't like the way he talks to his team over the radio.

I had always.been fond of Mark Webber, too. Another pilot with pretty much the same amount of luck of poor Button.

Kimi is hilarious! When it talks he seems like he's being miserable but he makes me laugh.

I like Mark Webber. I remember when his car was on fire and he was taking his time getting out of the car. I shouted "get out of the car!" He's so cool.
