Juliet Burke #8: "One of the most compelling reasons to stay with the often maddening series during its six-year run." - MSN

Quotes

Juliet: Well, Adam, I am the host and I do pick the book. And this is my favorite book. So I am absolutely thrilled that you can't stand it. Silly me for sinking so low as to select something that Ben wouldn't like. Here I am thinking that free will still actually exists on...

Jack: So, what else do you do besides making sandwiches?
Juliet: I didn't make it. I just put the toothpicks in.

Juliet: No, I'm sorry. Whatever you think I am, I'm not. I'm not a leader, Mr. Alpert. I'm a mess.

Juliet: [to Sayid and Sawyer] You know, it's interesting that you two are now the camp's moral police. I'm curious, Sayid, how long was it before you told everyone on that beach exactly how many people you've tortured in your life. Do they know about Basra? And I'm sure the first thing you did when you got here, James, was to gather everyone in a circle, and tell them about the man you shot in cold blood the night before you got on the plane. So why don't we just skip the part where you two pretend to be righteous. I'm taking that medication back to Claire. And you're gonna let me. Because if she doesn't get it, she's gonna die. And the last thing that either of you need right now, is more blood on your hands.

Sawyer: A runway? For what?
Juliet: The aliens.

Juliet: It's very stressful being an Other, Jack.

I haven't rewatched any Lost episode in a while. I wonder if my feelings have changed now that I've had some time to "detach" myself, so to say.

Well, as much as I like to rant against Lost and all the things they got wrong, it has been such a huge part of my fandom life for so long that sometimes I wonder if my favorite characters and storylines might have shone a bit brighter in my eyes than they objectively were, even recognizing the weak moments in the writing.
Or if I'll still rewatch an episode 5 years into the future and still feel emotional over and impressed by certain scenes.

Got it!

Some Juliet/Sayid love:

I always wished they would have been given more scenes.

Aw! So sweet!

I saw Naveen in the movie Diana recently. It was quite good. The movie had been panned so I was pleasantly surprised.

What happened to that film, btw? I remember quite some buzz surrounding it, and then it seemed swallowed by a black hole.
The same happened to Grace of Monaco with Nicole Kidman, I think.
Princesses haven't had great luck in fiction lately.

Thanks for the gifset! I'd have loved more scenes between them, too - actually, my list of things they could have done with Sayid instead of wasting his time is very, very long.

We needed more Sayid.

I found Diana on my tv. I don't know how well it did at the cinema.

What is Naveen up to these days, by the way? I know he is in Sense 8, but not if he's done any other movies after Diana.

I just checked his IMDB profile and the only other thing he has done since Diana is voice work on a video game. I know actors like Naveen are automatically at a disadvantage because there aren't many minority roles on offer, but I do sometimes wonder if his post-Lost acting career might have stalled so much because he has a reputation for being quite out-spoken on and off the set. Most producers and writers do not appreciate when actors criticize the quality of the scripts and Naveen did that several times.

Definitely not a good idea to criticize the scripts. The obvious thing to do if you don't like the quality of the scripts is to write them yourself. Maybe he is doing that.

Maybe.
