FLASHBACKS TO A TUMULTUOUS TIME IN DAMON’S LIFE – When Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) realize that uncovering a time in Damon’s past may provide clues to finding their way home, Damon is forced to relive one of the worst days of his life. After an awkward run-in with Jo (guest star Jodi Lyn O’Keefe) at the hospital, Alaric (Matt Davis) steps in to help Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) get his life together and cope with the loss of Bonnie. Elsewhere, Stefan (Paul Wesley) attempts to show Elena (Nina Dobrev) what it’s like to start over and create a new identity, while an unsuspecting Matt (Zach Roerig) finds himself in a disturbing situation when Tripp (guest star Colin Ferguson) lets him in on a dark secret. Lastly, Stefan, who is desperate to regain some normalcy in his life, is stunned when an unexpected visitor shows up. Michael Malarkey also stars.

Like Kai/Bonnie but he is kind of crazy. And wow, Damon actually listens to Bonnie when she rightfully calls him out on things. Those 3 are the best thing about this season, tbh.

Didn't miss Caroline in this episode. I'm glad Ivy is back. Don't care about Sarah being Zach's daughter. And I do miss Stefan/Elena.

Omg. WHAT if, the sister Kai let live is... Jo. I'm betting she has a secret (no one on this show is without one) and she seemed rather hard on Jeremy's tough situation, making me think she's been through a lot herself. Otherwise, there's no other point to the whole letting one sister live thing.

My money is on that Jo is the sister and that makes her a witch of the Gemini coven. In this case, she will have a hand in Bamon's return.

Loved seeing Stefan calling Elena out on her coping mechanisms. She can't just take away her memories. She needs to learn to deal with things like a normal person.

Surprised to see that Stefan was pulling a Ryan Atwood circa S4. Then again, Stefan is always the one that puts all the pain and guilt on himself so in that way, it's typical.

I'm really enjoying Stefan and Elena's friendship. It feels so genuine and real.

So the Gemini Coven lead was a thing! But they probably wouldn't tell Stefan about the possibility of bringing someone back from the realm they created because they know Kai would probably try and hitch a ride somehow. Kai being called an abomination by his family kind of reminds me of Mikael calling Klaus the same thing. However, so far Kai just seems so unstable. Also, I can't figure out if the actor playing him is over-acting or acting him just right. Kai's is just so unhinged. But usually the bad guys on this show are three-dimensional so we'll see.

So, Sarah is a Salvatore! Still not sure if I like it or not. Better than Ivy coming back from the dead. Didn't they just do that last season with pretty eyes Jesse?

Baby boy Matt still getting screentime, always a pleasure.
