LIFE WITHOUT ELENA — After a twisted plan left the life of his girlfriend Elena linked to that of his best friend Bonnie (Kat Graham), Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is forced to navigate his new reality without the love of his life. A newly empowered Bonnie has decided that she will be Damon’s moral compass and keeps a close eye on him as he, in turn, cautiously keeps tabs on Alaric (Matt Davis), following the loss of his fiancée Jo. Meanwhile, as he waits for Caroline (Candice King) to sort out her emotions, Stefan (Paul Wesley) takes an active role in protecting the town from Lily (guest star Annie Wersching) and her family of Heretics, who have wasted no time wreaking havoc in Mystic Falls. Elsewhere, Enzo (Michael Malarkey) struggles to find his place in Lily’s new life, and is quickly forced to decide where his true loyalties lie. Finally, with the stakes higher than ever, Matt (Zach Roerig), who has recently completed his deputy training program, teams up with Stefan and Caroline to put a stop to the Heretics, but an unexpected turn of events leaves one of them in a dangerous position.

thanks for opening! It's been awhile since I've been on the board, but I'm looking forward to the ep. I honestly can't imagine what the show will be like now and I have to say I'm morbidly curious.

YW

I'm very curious to read what people think about this episode.

I thought the episode moved along pretty well. I’m not a fan of the Lily and family story so Damon and Bonnie killing one of them was the best part. I’m glad Alaric is “off his rocker”...why would he not be? Hopefully, this proves interesting.

I continue to wish Elena had simply been killed off so that Damon and everyone else could move on. Hopefully, there is less reference to her as the season moves forward.

Enzo’s hair looked good. :)

Hey, wasn't Tyler supposed to appear in this episode? I didn't hear anything about him.

i assume we will get less and less elena mentions as it goes on but i am glad they arent just forgetting her immediately.

but they mentioned anna and vicki for a long time. they still do occasionally and i like that.

I really enjoyed this episode. I liked the time jumps and the dystopian flair in MF.

To bad I'm not living in america, so I wont count to the ratings.

Those two teenagers got what they deserved for hit and run like they did. That was awful.

I agree over time they will mention Elena less and less.

It was a good episode.

I still like the bamon interaction.

Telepath 10-09-2015 08:35 AM

I thought it was rather strong. I didn't "feel" the Steroline stuff as much as I used to but it's a pretty logical progression, it would've been silly if they were tiptoeing around each other for half a season. Depending on how the time jumps are done I think they might be a decent twist, I just hope that they really have a plan about how the lines will converge. Damon's death wish for Bonnie didn't come off as anywhere close to as badly as people would've had you believe. All in all the strongest part of the show is the interactions between the cast who have come to known each other very intimately over the years, and they can save some quite abysmal plot lines with that (as I am sure they will have to do.)
