Can't decide whether I enjoyed it or was left unsatisfied, to be honest.

Wow, so it's really over.

Confused by the ending.... did everyone die in the end? don't get how we saw Elena seeing her family and Damon seeing Stefan.:confused:... yeah I'm just confused.:blank:

It seems like too much was in those last moments...

I was confused, too. I took the ending to mean that, someday, after Elena and Damon had both died, they were reuniting with loved ones in . . . the beyond.

Loved the last line and all the Salvatore bros stuff.

I love Katherine as a character, but less of her and more of Elena would have been better for the episode, I think.


ETA: Don't even get me started on Bonnie just all of a sudden figuring out how to break the Sleeping Beauty spell at the end.

im half way drunk dealing with the final minutes to the series finale of the vampire diaries, that was so good and sad. my god.

I thought it was beautiful. The most important love story was the one between the two brothers, which is as it should be I feel. Of course, not all the logistics of the plot made sense, as usual, but overall they kept the idea pretty simple, which was wise, since they only had an hour: fight fire with fire and reunite with loved ones. I guessed correctly that it would remind me of LOST's finale. My only main complaint is that there were no Bonnie and Damon scenes. They could have easily slipped one in and it was not fair at all to Bamon fans.

Oh I almost forgot! What was up with Nina's hair and eyebrows? It seemed like she was wearing a Halloween wig and her eyebrows seemed to change in thickness.

Well the hair is because Nina was wearing a wig. Her hair is short now like it is in the future shots.

^It was not a good wig though. She looked like Morticia.

It was a horrible wig, I agree. At first, Nina didn't even feel like Katherine. Actually, I don't feel like she fully hit the Katherine mark. There was something...different about her portrayal of her this time around. She was able to do Elena though but we barely had Elena.

This day felt like it would never come and now that it's here....I'm just so happy :bawl:.

Stefan - Did he seriously say Damon was the better brother or was I just laughing too hard to hear correctly? Because wow. Not upset by his ending all that much. He got Lexi and his car and then Damon sometime later. And he seemed at genuine peace away from everyone so :shrug:. I do find it funny though he was barely married for 2hrs before he decided he would rather die :lol:.

Damon - Happy he acknowledge the blood on his hands and that he was actually responsible for his own terrible decisions. I just wish he died instead because it would have been more poetic imo that he died with Katherine and saved Stefan and allowed him to have happiness after promising him endless torment in s1.

Caroline - Meh. Possible KC endgame does not negate the utter uselessness of her new life as being Professor X :rolleyes:.

Bonnie - Getting to enjoy living her life to the fullest and being happy before inevitably reuniting with Enzo is nice. I'm just happy she wasn't the one who ended up dead tbh.

Elena - Damn that wig was terrible :lol:. Guess it's nice she got to have her HEA with Damon, but also meh about her just utter lack of feeling about anything and everything.

Matt & the Mashed Potatoes - I don't care. Enjoy your bench.

Jeremy - Nice little cameo to see him alive. Wish he was with Elena instead of randomly with the x-men.

Alaric - Wasn't he like a father to Elena at one point? And he legit seemed to not give a fck that she was about to burn in hellfire :lol:. Wow.

Ghostys - Lexi was a nice surprise and I loved the hug she shared with Stefan. Jo looking over Ric and her girls was sweet. Tyler & Vicki endgame was so freaking random and weird :lol:.Sheriff Forbes was really nice to see looking over her daughter, the Gilberts/Jenna was really nice to see them all together and smiling, but John being there too was just weird since no one gave a fck about him :lol:.

Katherine - I forgot how much I missed her. Nina seemed to be in her element playing her. Wish there was more of a purpose with her there and not just "hey I seduced the devil and became queen" type of bs. Whatever, I was happy to see her :D.

Cons - Sloppy revision to the sleeping curse on Elena, Damon and Caroline being friends, Stefan sacrificing himself because Team Damon was better, the LOST ending, Tyler getting crapped on all season only to end up with Vicki, the show from s4-s8.

Pros - THIS BITCH IS FINALLY OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes it is to be assumed that they did die because we saw what their "heaven" would be like.

It went back to the start of the show sort of Elena was never the same after she lost her parents and Damon wasnt the same after he lost Stefan

I don't know how I feel about this episode. Stefan making sacrifices happens so often that I find it so boring. I wasn't moved by it. I did feel a little something when Elena told Caroline what Stefan said though.

Things that I liked: Caroline and Stefan's scene at the highschool, Stefan and Lexi, Elena with her family at the end, and DE, the 2010 DE fan in me can't help but feel a little something for them sometimes :eek: But that's about it.


Finally! :yay: :lol:

I was watching the scene and all I could think of was "Comeon, even the writers must read this as: both Elena and Stefan know that Stefan is lying to make both of them feel better". And I don't even think that Damon is hopeless/doesn't have any good traits. But yeah, Stefan was absolutely lying in that moment.
