I liked that pretty much the whole cast was in that one scene. It gave me S3 vibes but the fact that they had two vampires and a vampire hunter around and Damon still managed to drive away so easily after saying he had more evil stuff to do He should have been locked up in the Salvatore basement by now.

Stefan's death in 5x21 was lame so I'm not that surprised.

I think what bugged me most was that speech. It would have made more sense coming from any other character but Tyler because of how irrelevant he is to Damon. I feel like they wanted to kill someone but didn't have the guts to kill anyone else. Such a cop out if he really is dead. Maybe that's the point though. For once Damon will feel guilt for someone he didn't care about without it having anything to do with Elena. Because everyone will free pass this like they do when all the vamps flip their humanity switches. Also since the scene was intercut with Sybil looking all crazy seductive I get why they wouldn't make it too action packed. It would have ruined the tone. But if Tyler's been hunting vamps with Jeremy for years how does he not have more weapons with him Also by now everyone should know Damon's lay in the middle of the road trick. So stupid.

The speech made it a million times worse. At least Stefan's "death" was shocking because one second he was fine and then the next FakeTyler ripped his heart out and you were left with a "wtf just happened?" look on your face. No fluffy speeches or anything like that.

I didn't dislike this episode as much as I did the first time around but I do agree there were some dumb things thrown in.

For one, too much Sybil. WAY too much Sybil. She is just so annoying. I just don't understand why she is even there nothing with those guys and that town. It makes no sense. I cant wait til she is gone, she is absolutely the worst.

Tyler's death was also really lame and random and out of nowhere. It was completely unnecessary.

I love SC but man, I wish they had more in this final season. But at least we got to see them as an engaged couple for a while? I did like the Alaric and Stefan moments though and again the continued focus on the core cast. That's one thing this season is doing right.

I loved Tyler. I think he got the most growth. and then he died and forwood was ruined? It sucks. it really does.
