THE TERRIBLE TRUTH — When Stefan (Paul Wesley) arrives back in Mystic Falls with Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen), Caroline (Candice Accola) is immediately worried about Elena’s state of mind. Stefan reaches out to Dr. Fell (guest star Torrey DeVitto) and Matt (Zach Roerig) for help. Still on the island, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) relays somber news to Rebekah (Claire Holt), and is surprised at her reaction. Together, Damon and Rebekah learn an unexpected bit of recent history from Vaughn (guest star Charlie Bewley). Everyone is horrified when Bonnie (Kat Graham) reveals the rest of Shane’s (guest star David Alpay) plan. Finally, after Damon does his best to help her, Elena comes up with a plan of her own.

Jeremys really dead,
Elena has turned into Katherine by switching her humanity off,
Bonnie wants too kill 12 people to bring back everthing super natural that has died from the otherside and Shane is really Silas.

I am glad that Vaughan told Rebecca that they all gonna get whats coming to them by awakening Silas.

Agreed, this was my first episode I watched of Season 4. I just assumed it'll be a good one and I'm happy I was correct.

I felt so sad for Matt, when he broke down in that car.

I felt his pain, and mainly Elena. You can tell she never felt as much pain as she did when she accepted that Jeremy was dead.

It seems like it's truly the end of Jeremy. One of my favorites.

I love their scene, I am pretty sure Stefan so badly wanted to say he loved Damon and Damon knew that, so being the older brother he just nods and tells him 'I know' and a touch to the shoulder

I want a hug, we better get one in the finale.

I saw some posters saying that it will probably be a big Defan ending this season and I am so ready for that. All these little hints and moments, it makes me believe Damon will do something huge for Stefan.

This episode really proved to me that the brothers, no matter what they do to each other or what they go through, is that they really do love each other and that they really do need each other in their lives. I want more.

Ooo he is dead. He was getting smelly as well.

Silas is a shape shifter and has taken over Shane's image. Shane's body is still damaged and laying on the island wherever that is. Silas just shifted to look like him only cleaner and better groomed. I thought something was up with him when he appeared to Bonnie and disappeared so quickly from her. What will he look like in his own form? What is he? Is he part werewolf since they are the original shape shifters?

Someone, I think it was Shane, said that you can't be a witch and vampire both, but wasn't Bonnie's mom like that? Or did she loose her witchyness at the time she turned. Same with Esther, Rebecca's and Klaus's mom, was she not both?

Poor, sad Elena. Nina Dobrev did some fine acting during this point of the show, when she grieved so deeply. Then Damon took away her humanity and saved her from this all consuming sadness. I'm surprised that with all the stuff happening in the show, all the magical and supernatural stuff going on that she didn't do this earlier. Eh, I guess Jeremy was her one hold onto what is really real.

Nice to see another human come along when Meredith showed up. And poor sad Matt.

The episode was good written and Nina was at her finest in terms of performance but I still wish it wasn't real.

Matt was great and so were Caroline,Rebekah and Bonnie.

I can't believe Elena still burned the house with Jer in it.And the switching,I didn't see it coming.

I agree that this was the best episode of the season. Nina was amazing. Really good acting on her part. I can't wait to see what happens now that she was switch off her humanity but I hope she's isn't like Katherine. I think Katherine doesn't have her humanity off, she's just that way.

Bonnie is acting very desperate and I loved how much Jeremy's death affected her. It's interesting to see her use her magic for something she wants.

I didn't see the Silas/Shane thing coming. Is Shane dead? I'm glad they are keeping the actor because he's really good but Shane was getting annoying.

Bonnie's mom stopped being a witch the moment she turned. She even got upset about losing her power and not being able to connect to nature anymore.

And Esther was on the other side while her witch made a spell to keep her body intact until she could return to it. Klaus mother was human.

I don't think Shane is dead yet. He is in a debilitated state from his appearance to Rebecca. He grabbed her leg whilst laying on the ground and bleeding from his leg injury. She just appeared to shake him off. Why didn't Rebecca take a drink of his blood? It was oozing and should have interested her quite a bit since she seemed to have been without feeding for a while.

I thought the episode was good. I haven't watched a live episode of TVD all season. Nina , Zach, and, Kat's acting was great in the episode!

I feel bad for Elena and Bonnie they are both going off the deep end!

I loved the Bonnie and Damon!

I agree I wonder that about Rebekah not drinking Shane's blood!
