Im sad that they didnt give D/A much in the last few seasons of the show. Even in the finale Alaric seemed annoyed that Caroline wanted to help Stefan with Damon. Even though Alaric told Bonnie later that of course he cared about Damon, it jsut didnt feel genuine. I think this bond and friendship is the one part of the show that truly disappointed me in the last seasons, it just sucks it wasnt given more care and attention.

I agree in everything, Alexa, Dalaric is ruined beyond repair for good, no chances, his words weren't genuine at all, I get his main concern are the twins but not even sparing a thought for Damon or giving ideas to help him... that hurts, their friendship is buried, and that's one of the worst crimes of TVD
   And funny thing is, season8 started good for them, I had hope again  __________________

i totally agree, i would have been better had he just died and nt come back back. or left after jos death or something. i couldnt stand his season 7 storyline with caroline and he just seemed annoyed all of the time and judgy.

Yep, I agree, at this point I preferred their relationship when he was a ghost and Damon alive, they had more depth

It's a strike in the heart watching their scenes in old seasons, they became just a great team and friends, starting off as enemies, there was os much build up, I hate how it ended

1x11 ending finding out that it was Damon that attacked and killed Isobel
 well at this time don't know name - but Alaric's wifeIt was still amazing that these two became best of friends eventually completely and utterly love these two__________________
