I know the actress had a baby this past year (which is why in the flashback of Klaus changing you only saw the back of her), but I'm not sure if she would reprise the role later on. I wouldn't be heart-broken about a recast, but with someone more age appropriate. Not feeling Esther as a hormonal teenager.

I like Mikael more than Esther, to be completely honest. Yes, it has everything to do with Sebastian being amazing, but Esther annoyed me so much. I hated her from the start because she never tried to protect her child. As a mother that should have been her first instinct, but instead she allowed Mikael to continue to abuse and bully Klaus and the others at times. At least Mikael was upfront about being a monster, Esther hid it away until she wanted to murder her children for being vampires.

yeah maybe the other Esther couldn't make it for the finale she might be busy filming something else?

It would be nice to see the real Esther and Finn back though for next season

I would rather Finn back in his normal body, but wouldn't mind a recast of Esther if she was at least age appropriate.

Yeah I get that, if she doesn't want them to know it's her it's better to use a different body that's for sure

I loved Mikael when he first appeared on TVD because it was really exciting to see somebody who could threaten and possibly get rid of Klaus. I was still mad about the Aunt Jenna dying thing

And like you said he is interesting and the acting is great. I think they killed off Mikael too quickly on TVD. I don't care about him now though because I don't see what else they can do with him. He'll try to kill Klaus and fail again. Unless they explore why he hates Klaus and try to somewhat redeem him which could ruin him.

Mikael flopped on TVD. He was mean't to take Klaus down, but half-way into the first half of S3 they decided to let Klaus live. I think he really was meant to die when Mikael showed up. It was a really anti-climactic episode. I think he was a lot scarier in flashbacks and I want to see where they will go with him now under Davina's control, but I hope he gets a pretty fantastic end to his character and not try to redeem him.

Esther, I always thought, viewed her children as dead and in their place were monsters wearing their faces. She was very upset about the pain they had caused because of what she turned them into - and I can understand and even respect that. My issue is that instead of trying to protect her children from an abusive father she turned her cheek or had an affair. She should have been a mother first and fight for her children. I get that it was a different time, but still doesn't fix it.

^ I'm also hoping that his end is fitting and true to his character. After a 1000 years of being a villain you can't just change in a weeks/months. The Davina/Mikael thing is going to be a really interesting dynamic. Sticking a ruthless 1000 year old villain with a teenager. Maybe Mikael will bring out Davina's dark side.

I hope so. I like Davina darker.

I just want him to stay evil and have a good end. His death on TVD was so anti-climactic. It was just embarrassing considering everything they went through to find Mikael.

I wonder that too. I mean he stayed with her even when he found out she had an affair. Plus when he learned Klaus murdered her he went on his revenge thing. It wasn't just that he hated Klaus or that he was a "bastard", but the catalyst was Esther's death.

I don't know how she feels about him since she never mentioned him when she was brought back. I can't wait to see how they react to each other again!

I want him to stay evil as well. If they attempt any sort of redemption it will just make Mikael look like a cartoon villain. He is already awesome and liked enough as a horrible guy. Keep him this way.
