Oh boy that episode was not a good sign if they were hoping for a renewal . So boring.

Klaus - Literally been stuck in a dungeon for 5 years and he willingly helps Marcel why? Why help him when he could have started a war and been distracted enough that maybe you could have attempted some sort of an escape . Like I get that you want to protect you family, but come on dude. So lame.

Marcel - Ugh. You talk a lot of shiit for such a puss. Like honestly you're the most indestructable creature in existance now and you still need someone else to fight your battles for you? Literal definition of a bitch.

Hayley - Was there, don't care.

Vincent - Hottie with the body . Also clearly not all that smart working with Marcel. Honestly before the Mikaelsons showed up he was keeping the witches enslaved and you just...what, forgot that? I hope it's revealed he's not just blindly working with Marcel and has been gathering a way to stop him just in case.

Josh - Such a cutie . No point to him, but nice he was there .

Elijah - Damn the idiot was looking foine .

Freya - Scary and crazy. Just like I remembered .

Random Wolf Girl - Best run and hide girl.

Old Lady Wolfie - Only sensible one. I mean I'm happy the Mikaelsons are back, but she's clearly the only one remembering how much pain and destruction that follows them. Let them rot (not really though ).

Random Vamp Chick - Pretty. Smart. Possibly evil. I'm into it.

Alistair - Hot accent gone too soon .

Mommy Witch - You're kid is like 8 and you lost him? Plus you're a witch! Why not just do a locator spell on his ass? So stupid.

Pros - Next episode looked promising (minus Camille hallucinations). This episode was on National Drunk Day so I drank every time I rolled my eyes and now I'm almost dead.

Cons - No Rebekah. No Kol. Too many Camille mentions . No Davina mentions . Klaus being a grade-a idiot. Marcel being up my butt the whole episode. Ugh. Hopeless.

It depends on if trends count toward renewal because the show was #1 for a while.... I'm just saying 'cause I honestly have no idea if they count or not.

So...I've never fully reviewd an episode...still not gonna start tonight because my mind is basically on one thing and one thing only right now, but...

Elijah - He should be in a witchy coma more often because he comes out of it even hotter than he went in.

Haylijah - Don't even get me started. So much greatness that I wasn't expecting this episode. It was a nice surprise and one that I won't soon forget! Ahhh, I just can't. My feels are just all over the place!

Hayley - I loved seeing her being all badass in a dress and in wolf form.

Hayley and Hope - sorry, not sorry....they're rot your teeth adorable with each other....

Marcel - treating Klaus basically like he's his guard and hunting dog (no pun intended. )

Freya - well damn....a lot of sass tonight. seeming much darker than usual as well...

Keelin - I can already see the romance brewing...maybe more one sided though...too soon to tell....

Rebekah and Kol - surprised they got as many mentions considering who the writers of the show are.

Klaus - don't like seeing him like that at all.

Vincent - am I right in sensing a romance of some sort on the horizon for him...

All in all, not a bad premiere. I definitely enjoyed it more than I have the past one or two premieres. And next episode looks very promising so we'll see where that goes next week.

I very much enjoyed it

After a few seasons I'm kinda over Marcel and all his talk, that was the least interesting part to me about the episode.
But I Love that Klaus is taking it all for his family, to protect them.
I loved that Hayley wanted to revive them all.
I loved the Haylijah moment I definitely was not expecting anything for/from them this episode, so this was just great. I watched it three times before resuming the episode
Loved Freya, although yes, she seems darker than she used to be
While I agree there wasn't much purpose to/for him, I was glad we got Josh
I just would've hoped to at the very least see Rebeka and Kol for a second

Overall, I very much liked the episode, but it didn't leave a cliffhanger, some sense of curiosity of what will be next.

I'm going to post without reading others first, since hurricane eyes you always see the bs and it's so funny but TO and TVD you kind of have to turn off your critical thinking cap to enjoy these shows sometimes, for there's always plot holes...

I will say I was underwhelmed at first..although I was distracted by a bad recording on my computer GRRRRR.

I think I expected to see more about the werewolves and Hayley's search for them. I thought that could be an interesting angle, learning about what happened to the werewolf packs. I remember how interesting it was at first when Klaus was looking for his bloodline and finding them hiding in the woods. Of course, if the werewolves are just ordinary people and somewhat boring/annoying like the ER doc Hayley kidnapped, maybe that's why? Didn't expect that she would find the cure in the first episode. At least they are realistic that it took her five years. Loved the look Elijah gave Hayley when he appeared beside her after wakening and helping take care of the vampires though.

Freya is like a MACHINE. Almost inhuman in her ruthlessness to protect her family, much in the way Elijah was introduced on TVD.

Little Hope is very cute and I can see a resemblance to Klaus. She still acts like an object rather than an actual character so far, as most kids in shows do--there to protect but not to have individuality. Let's hope that changes, as advertised.

I am intrigued by the unseen occult force shown at the end---witch ghost? Could it possibly be Davina come back to take revenge?

Wow I missed Klaus! I loved when Vincent mentioned Cami and the look on Klaus' face. JM such a fantastic actor. And while I love the softer side of Klaus, it's great to see him behave like an animal again. Clearly he needs more than five years in prison to become rehabilitated. Speaking of which, why is he suddenly in a dungeon and not bricked up in a wall? It's a cool dungeon, but I thought he was in solitary confinement? It allows for convos with Marcel though, and it's great to see those two spar again and for Marcel to have greater importance in the story. I see he has taken over Lucien's digs. Seems he has more in common with the Mikaelsons than he'd like to admit. I hope they continue exploring that.

I loved the opening scene and Vincent as the community leader in the church (never got into the church as a gym). I never realized that in severing the tie with the ancestors the witches are now "free" of them, as he told them in his speech.

Josh! Love his humor with Marcel, Vincent.

Missed the female leads of the Quarter. The single Mom witch could be interesting but not the Melrose Place vampire informant--she annoys me.

I am the most obnoxious about these shows I'm sure. Most just want to watch and enjoy and here I am pointing out flaws and throwing shade left and right.

Watching the premiere made me realize I had no recollection of anything that happened in season 3. But I did enjoy the Haylijah.

It has been a long time. I guess it was good they kind of did the flashbacks to Camille and Davina dying and Klaus being taken by Marcel in the beginning .

It wasn't a very strong premiere in my opinion. I think 4x02 will be better because all the family are back and ready to get Klaus back. Seems more interesting and action packed to me.
