The Originals 2x22: Ashes to Ashes  May 11th@ 8:00pm Eastern Description: EVERYTHING WE LOVE, WE TURN TO ASH — With time running out, Klaus’ (Joseph Morgan) ultimate plan to protect baby Hope at all costs continues to take shape. As tensions between the siblings come to a head, Cami (Leah Pipes) reveals a vital piece of information that causes Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Rebekah to reconsider their plan of attack against Dahlia (guest star Claudia Black). Davina (Danielle Campbell) finds herself one step closer to fulfilling the promise she made to Kol, while Freya (guest star Riley Voelkel) is forced to take drastic measures to protect herself against Dahlia. Elsewhere, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) has to put aside his fury at Klaus in order to protect himself and everyone in their sire line. Meanwhile, Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood) finds himself torn between the prospects of a magic-free life away from New Orleans and a personal obligation to protect Davina. Finally, with their risky plan in place, the Mikaelson siblings prepare for the fight of their lives. It didn't really feel like finale. First season finale was way better, every second of it was epic.
This one left one big question: I think Esther once said on TVD that there can be no truly immortal being. The nature would not allow such disbalance. So, how come Dahlia just destroyed the last weapon that could kill the originals? Regardless of anything else, at the end Klaus and Hope are safe and together. That is all I care about. So I finished the episode...
Klaus - Pretty bad-freaking-ass with stabbing yourself with the dagger. Loved all the family scenes, but there was zero need for those awkward scenes with the bartender. Bleh. That dialogue though at the end of the fight  ...something about being orphans now. Just stop. Elijah -  Hurting Davina's chance to bring Kol back...I hope she breaks your neck and punches you in the throat  . Rebekah - Claire  missed you girl. Wish there was more klebekah and less rebel...and I'm not all that surprised that Maisie is back in the role, but it was dumb . Freya -  My girl is here to stay! I love you and totally was in love with all the scenes with Klaus. I was into you and Elijah, but damn those Klaus scenes... . Why can't this be on HBO because Klaus literally only has sexual chemistry with his siblings?!Davina - I love you and hope you do become the wicked witch for a bit. You deserve happiness, but damn that was dumb leaving his ashes . Glad you were able to put aside your anger and helped for Josh though  . Vincent - I like you  . I hope you protect Davina because she needs all the help she can get.Marcel - Meh. I don't know why, but I prefer you with Maisie/Rebekah over Claire/Rebekah. Maybe there's just better chemistry  . Esther - Happy they got original Esther back because that would be dumb if it was the other chick. Also when did you find the time to put on some red lipstick between coming back to life and facing off with Dahlia? Dahlia - Such a cheesy and lame ending. Like you are a serious disappointment. Hayley -  I still find it hilarious how you're a wolf like full time now.Camille - GO. AWAY. I am so happy for this hiatus. This show is a serious mess . __________________

Princess Anna, I love your assesstment. I figured that Freya would be Rebekah's replacement. Loved seeing them together in the end.
Loved Esther protecting her children. Nice redemption. Hayley brought this upon herself Gia did not. Overall, a great finale. |

Loved Esther coming back (Alice) shame she had to die AGAIN real soon.
Claire my bb I will forever love you, your face just shines and makes me stand that mess of a season finale. Freya my precious bb I love you so, please never leave us. Vincent I like you still but I miss Yusuf playing Finn. Klaus wanting to have Rebekah and Freya as Hope's mothers instead of Hayley. and also what on earth was that ending for Dahlia? ...I'm still confused and kinda bored and done with the whole thing tbh. Let me know whenever Claire comes back or at least whenever Nate shows up. |

I enjoyed the episode
yeah loved that we got to see Esther in her original body but didn't last long  nice touch with the red lipstick heheglad we saw Claire back but she went back into the body,didnt really see the point off it unless shes still trying to bring back kol glad freys staying such a simple ending to dahlia,i thought it was a bit lame davina felt bad for her when they tricked her with the ashes and did a swap,i think next season she is fighting back __________________

This was quite honestly the worst finale I have seen of the TVD universe.
I'll just leave it at that. I had this idea that "TO is TVD with slightly better writing but worse cast"... I can't claim that anymore. __________________

I swear to god, thank god I didn't miss anything important today from watching this episode.
Julie Plec your hatred for Kol is sickening. Stop teasing if you can't deliver. My reaction for resurrecting the Original Ho  Esther - your make up makes you look like a baby prostitute, and it looks like you don't want to be there but I love how you love your bratty children. Freya - omg you and Nik can look good together Rebekah - How I miss you bby girl Dahlia - you're a disappointment, no wonder Esther left you for Viking D Davina- oh bby girl, we want the same thing. I cried with you. Marcel - whatever Hayley- thank god you were only there for less than a minute Elijah- stop pretending you cared about that homeless hipster, we all know who you want, but your shag scenes are hot. Vincent - please stay I want more of your screentime than Marcel the boring douche Klausy - is flawless, you're the only one who can be fit and adorable at the same time. You were such a DILF Finally... Chubille- The only right thing that Plec has done so far. I mean do not I mean do not let her SNOG KLAUS. I am not 'avin' that, aye! It's so weird seeing like 96% of the "fandom" saying how crap the finale was and then you have a few sparse viewers thinking it was great. I just don't get how the writers thought that Dahlia had a good ending and how cheating Kol out of being resurrected was a good idea. It's such a mess and I'm just so glad for this hiatus.

The episode was ok, but they hyped it up way to much. S1 finale was much better. I don't know why the writers think, we want to see another round of Elijah and Klaus fighting.

I just loved having Claire back! The show just has such a different vibe with her there.
Freya and Marcel imo have more chemistry than Rebekah and Marcel. But I loved the moment when Freya helped saved the others. I liked the scenes between Vincent and Cami. The last Haylijah scene was cute too. It was cool to see the original Esther back for a bit. I was glad she killed Dahlia and that storyline is done. However, the moment where they hugged was a bit cheesey. The Freya/Rebekah scenes are really adorable. I hate that Rebekah went back into the old body but obviously I get why because of Claire's availability. And the new Rebekah and Marcel have better chemistry. OMG WHEN KLAUS SAID HE WOULD HAVE FOUND CAMI.... I'm sorry but that was so adorableeeee. sdfsdfds. All in all not the best finale ever but I thought it was good. |
