:: About Matt ::
Matt Donovan is your typical All-American boy; good looking, athletic,
and all around nice guy. He grew up with Elena, and the two are very close bond.
They did date for awhile, but after the death of Elena's parents, she broke up
with him, saying she needed some time and space. Matt being the good guy
he is gave it to her, hoping that she would eventually come back to her when she
was ready. However, when Stefan arrives back in Mystic Falls, things change,
and Elena doesn't seem like she wants to get back with Matt anymore. Matt is
also close with Bonnie,Tyler, and Caroline, and is very protective of his sister Vicki.

:: About Zach ::
Zach was born in Montpelier, Ohio to Daniel and Andrea Roerig in 1985.
He attended Montpelier High school where he played both football and was also a
wrestler. While he was growing up, Zach worked for his dad and grandpa at
Fackler Mounuments, a place where they make gravestones. Zach also has a
younger sister named Emily who was born in 1989.

Zach portrayed the role of Casey Hughes on As the World Turns from January
18th, 2005 to May 2nd, 2007. Casey was the son of legacy couple Tom and
Margo Hughes, and during Zach's time, Casey was part of a popular couple, the
female half portrayed by Alexandra Chando. After his departure, Roerig accepted
a role on other soap One Life to Live, as Hunter Atwood. He departed again later
that year. He then made a few appearances on the popular show Friday Night
Lights as Cash the cowboy. It was announced in early 2009 that Roerig had been
cast as Matt Donovan, a character in the upcoming series The Vampire Diaries,
based on the popular books by LJ Smith. The Vampire Diaries is scheduled to
premiere on The CW in the fall of 2009.
