Was it explained to why?  I know she gave him the necklace and said he would be struck until she unlocked him back but was there an explanation to why ... another "Crest Moon" like the potion she gave him__________________

 Spelled but at the same time connected to the pack associated to being able to turn at will which believe she mentioned -- maybe she did explain but think its to do with the pack and as her mother is Hayley, than she's got Crest bloodline__________________
