I didn't even watch the show then, but I saw a lot of that stuff. They're why I started getting into the show in the first place

Yeah and by Season 4...I stopped watching cause of certain reasons. 402 was the last full episode I ever saw...although part of me remember watching at least part of the series finale. IDK.

I think I watched up until they sent Tyler away again in season 4, then after that just the forwood scenes...

It wasn't, but I still held out hope through s5. But then the 100th episode came & I was done.

As soon as I saw the trailer, I knew I was out. The show was ruined, Caroline was ruined for the sake of fan service, & that could never be fixed. I checked out a couple forwood scenes after that, but that was it for me - & I was never gonna watch a show that these writers were involved in again either.

I read spoilers and heard what was going to happen, so...yeah. I really don't understand their choices, but Kevin Williamson was always the big Tyler and TC fan and when he left it just wasn't the same.

Yeah, it all went downhill without him. They had such a good relationship & he saw that, I think Plec only ever cared about getting praise from the rabid shippers out there

That proved to me that Caroline was not a character at all, she was just there to be with whoever the writers felt like putting her with that week. She fell for Tyler because it made sense for her, it was something that happened naturally for her character.... everything that came after that was not about her at all.

EXACTLY!

Caroline was just a self-insert for the writers. Tyler and Caroline had such a beautiful love story and they threw it all away because of fan pandering. Fan service can be fun...but it has to make sense. There's a vast different between fans thinking something should happen because it takes the story/characters in an organic direction and another to just completely blow the show up "just cause".

Yeah, it just showed how weak-minded & desperate to please those writers were. Absolutely no integrity or pride in their work at all

Same, if you have to go to those lengths, then you have much bigger problems then your fave ship getting together...
