A Katy or a Gaga (5x04) - Episode Discussion
A Katy or a Gaga
Based on previous heated debates, we (moderators) have decided to list some guidelines and rules that need to be followed on all episode discussions here. 1. Do not bash any of the cast members or writers. Discussion should be about characters. Substituting an actors name for a character when discussing the character is not okay. They're not the same person. Respectfully critiquing someone's performance or a writer's contribution is fine, however, bashing and being rude about them is not. Offensive nicknames for the writers and cast-members are also not to be used here. This is against Fan Forum policy and is an insult to real people.Thank you, everyone! Happy __________________

To be honest, I have no real interest in the Ohio stories anymore. The characters are boring and the storylines don't interest me. Sue has crossed the line to just being a mean-spirited and unlikable character. I think they made a huge mistake making her the principal of the school. I also think these "thematic" episodes are getting increasingly contrived, especially this "Lady Gaga versus Katy Perry" theme.
I love the New York stories, and I think that Demi Lovato and Adam Lambert are great additions to the cast, and I wouldn't mind it at all if they focused on New York and the cast members that are there, especially Lea/Rachel, completely. __________________

I didn't even watch the Ohio parts of the show yet, but from what I've seen (especially with Roar), those parts were not only boring and dumb, but also really embarrassing. It pains me that we see more of that __________________

Okay, so I finally watched the episode and I really liked it.
Especially because the end is near – somewhat. Will said "Nationals in six weeks" and so that means Graduation in 6 weeks, too, right? I’m afraid we’re not going to see that until April next year with that long hiatus coming up. It already sucks. It’s so overdone to bring all those people to NY who should be there already! Okay... The costumes were really well done. Totally over the top, but still… Blaine looked really GAGA The wig was done very well, too. But yes, please, I even prefer the well-geled head over crazy costumes like that. Since I always thought that Marley would fit a lot better with Ryder than with Jake, I’m not really disappointed in this storyline. Because the M/J pairing always bored me. They simply don’t fit. IMO Jake needs someone with a little more… mh, fire, someone who challenges him so that he can shine as the good guy he is without being boring. So I really hope they break them up for good. It’s better for both characters, IMO. Kurts Band... I’m afraid I don’t remember the name *LOL* Elliot is amazing! But I really hope this doesn’t end up in another crush-storyline. Seriously, I'm so done with that! Santana, Dani, Elliot, Kurt and Rachel as Band ... like it. So far I don’t see Elliot as Kurt’s Nemesis, guess I have to wait for that. After reading thos spoilers I wasn’t expecting Elliot to be such a nice guy. Sam... I just love Sam! Sam really is my favorite. Such a cutie, so sweet. I didn’t know what to think about Penny when she showed up in 5.02 and yes, Sam somehow finds his soulmate in each single Season, but anyway, it was cute how he tried to impress her and how happy he was when she told him she would be there. But seriously, how old is that girl? She must be older than he right? Anyway… I just really want Sam end up in NY and not staying in Ohio, that really would be a let down! And "True Jackson VP" I was just waiting for Blaine bringing up "iCarly" and "Drake & Josh"! *LOL* All in all I liked it a lot, it was a good episode. __________________

It is so sad what this show has become from what it started out as. FOX should've stepped in and tried to bring quality back to this show since it appears no one behind the scenes care about it anymore. Each episode keeps reading like bad fanfiction.

The ratings were horrible. Tied their demo low and had 4 million viewers only and it even went down in the 3 million during the second half hour.

NYC side feels so fresh and funny. That's what Glee should be. Lima side is just old and recycled and not... good. Will v. Sue? Old. Love triangles? Old. A character (Sam) changing to impress someone? So old. And my goodness, for a show about singers you would at least think that someone would make sure the actors were not falling flat or being pitchy on songs. Full-NY season six, please.
Things that were good: NYC side (even if Apocalipsticks > Pamela Lansbury) : Dantana, the band name suggestions, Starchild/Elliott, Rachel, Kurt, Santana, Dani, all of it. Also good: Kitty ("Let me guess... BREH"). __________________
