I know people who have been together since elementary school. But I agree with you. It's sometimes seemingly unrealistic to be together since middle school and NOT date anyone else. So for Cory to spend time with Lauren and wanting to see her again isn't that far fetched. High school and dating is quite common in most worlds.
And Topanga did go on a date with that art guy played by Jonathan Jackson. And I think that's it. Can't really remember if she actually went out with Minkus or not  __________________

Feeny and Eric. IMO, Eric never gave himself credit for being smart so he always acted the way he thought he should act.
