Special Agent Nicholas Torres, or Nick as he's more commonly called, is played by Wilmer Valderrama. Nick first appeared in NCIS at the start of season fourteen when he returned to DC after years of working undercover in Argentina when his family's lives were threatened. With the help of Gibbs' and his team they were able to stop the drug lord who wanted to take revenge on Nick by killing all of his closest relations. Unfortunately his brother-in-law (who was a JAG lawyer) died, but his sister and niece survived. One can presume that Nick probably joined NCIS around the same time that Leon Vance became the director. However as he worked alone and a part of the undercover division he hadn't crossed paths with Gibbs or his team prior to this. After the case was over Torres decided to stick around while his sister recovered; meanwhile Gibbs invited him to join the team. Torres was unsure about it since he'd never been on a team before ("I never been on a team before. I'm not sure I'm the right fit."), but Bishop and McGee encouraged him to give it a chance ("First time for everything." / "Only one way to find out."). As Quinn said to Gibbs "Agent Torres was the absolute perfect choice for your team. Once I figured out what you were after, I got it. This time, it wasn't about finding an agent that your team needed; it was about finding an agent that needed your team."

For a long time he was known only for being the "Lone Wolf"; someone who trusts no one, nor needs anyone. Joining the team had changed his outlook on life and working in a team. From a one-man-band he has become a team member; relying on others expertise and wisdom. While he knew Agent Quinn ages before joining the team, his became closest friends with McGee, Bishop and Reeves. Clayton's death hit him quite hard, Ellie had to go and talk some sense into him. Reeves was like a brother to him.

When it comes to case-solving techniques: Torres is more like the muscle than the brains of the team. He solves cases on instinct, he struggles with technical terms and technology. Let it be printers, office equipment, or lava lamps he is able to make them malfunction in a minute.

He likes to tell tales about his undercover missions - no one knows the percentage of truth hidden within his words. As of now we only know that his being in Argentina, being part of motorbike gang, working undercover in a child trafficking syndicate, and dating a navy lieutenant's younger sister to prove his innocence are stories which truly happened.

Not much of his private life is known but we do know that he loves dancing and motorbikes and that he hates movies. He has a sister and niece whom we haven't seen since his first episode. During his run within the show we only saw meeting women a couple of times. Besides the Argentine undercover girlfriend/fiance, he had a thing for a blind woman and dated an older woman who had an adult son. He originally "won" Tony's apartment, but decided to let McGee and Delilah to rent Tony's former flat. He is a second son to Dinozzo Sr.; Senior always tries to give him dating advises.

Torres: "Yeah, it's a fantastic idea, except it's a misuse of my superpowers."
Bishop: "Which are?"
Torres: "Kicking down doors, breaking through windows. The tango" (14x04)

Thanks for starting the new thread Steph . I've removed the ? from the title as don't think that's necessary. I just had one as I was asking a question (if it was a good title idea) :P ;)

I watched Encanto recently and when one of the characters started to talk it was familiar. Sure enough it was Wilmer! I don't remember if there was a post about this project for him or not but just thought it was funny.

Haven't seen Encanto just yet.

I don't recall about Wilmer doing the dub/voice over for Encanto... But that's cool :)

He played Agustín who I think was the father of Mirabel. The character didn't talk much like some of the others but his voices was noticeable!

florerr 02-05-2022 02:42 PM

Just watched Encanto - I could instantly recognize his voice

He fit into the movie :D Good for him! :)
