A perfect tribute to Ducky. Love all the nods to the history of the show, and easter eggs. And all the flashbacks. Amazing.

And the ending. Beyond amazing... A definitely surprise.

It's sad to lose David. And Ducky. But they did the tribute just perfectly.

Ducky will be missed.

That was the most beautiful tribute I've ever seen. 💗 All the flashbacks, the little Easter Eggs, all the other teams getting mentioned (including LA, I'm sure Hetty picked those roses out since she loves flowers and has her own gardens), and OMG Tony!!!

It was all perfect. 💗

I don't want to watch :blank: :bawl:

It is heartbreaking but also fitting they had Palmer be the one who finds him.
Beautiful that they changed the music. No way could they go straight into their usual theme music. Still is it but slowed down is fitting.

aww a gift from Gibbs for McGee. Nice to include him in the episode. Nice photo of the three too.

Oh nice mentioning all the other offices/shows, including NOLA & LA. They still exist, they all care . Introducing/welcoming Sydney too :sigh:

Vance always with the beautiful words

The photos in Ducky's office :sigh: Some don't seem likely to be things you'd take photos of. But great to see the memories

Black roses, clearly from Abby  Can't mention her? :look:

Knight finding Palmer something to do  :sigh:

I'm glad they found the information they needed to get the politician. Lovely that one Ducky's final acts was to get the girl the scholarship too

Perfect flashback moments, this episode flows so well. Beautiful tribute  They all did amazing with it

I knew what Tony was going to say when he walked in then. Perfect gift. Perfect lines for Tony to come in with too. Oddly a part of me suspected that he was going to appear in the ep too, even before FB spoiled it for me. Not sure why. I just did.

Poor Jimmy.

Loved all the callbacks. The easter eggs. Of course it helps that I have been watching the early years, so they are fresh in my mind. But was perfect. Even the letter signifying Ducky's brother.

And the pictures of the different teams. And mentioning all the other offices. Including Sydney.

So, Gibbs is still in Alaska.

They did not mention Abby's name. But you knew the flowers were from her. But they did not mention Gibbs name either from what I recall. You saw the envelope and picture.

You sometimes forget how long Vance has been around. So, yes, he and Ducky had some personal moments that made it perfect for to have some meaningful words, and to be grief stricken like the rest of the team.

And Jimmy. I love that he and Victoria have adopted the dog.

But the ending. Loved it. And probably was the right person to have the scene with Jimmy. Tony and Jimmy had a friendship there over the years, and sometimes Jimmy was Tony's Ducky on occasion.

And having McGee be there, beyond perfect. The banter was like old times... (I hope that he has now dipped his foot back into the show. He and Ziva might come back for a bigger visit).

This was the perfect tribute.

RIP in David once again, and now Ducky.

This was the tribute episode I was hoping for & a bit more :sigh:

everything well-timed and perfectly executed - so many moments and thoughts... I waa watching it with my mom shedding tears here & there.

David will be missed, but he had a full life and NCIS has managed to honour his presence as well !

As for Tony being back, I wasn't expecting Michael to just waltz in - but it was the perfect scene for a return, and I think it made sense that the last scene was with the 3 minus Gibbs who have worked longest with Ducky...

Jasper1975 02-21-2024 06:58 AM

So true. Love the end scene where it was McGee, Tony and Jimmy. The three characters from the very first season. And had worked with Ducky the longest.

The tribute was very well done. I was not sure what to expect. But it was done perfectly. Loved Jimmy and Kasie together. They are awesome friends.

And the tone down theme song. Quite the difference.

The slowed down theme was a nice touch, and I truly loved that Dinozzo was there for Ducky & Palmer, but not to talk about him or his family...

They did so well with connecting the old episodes as well and having David to say everything which was needed to be said... the editors, and the team did a marvelous job at finding those scenes...

This was a wonderful tribute to Ducky. Nice that they slowed down the intro music to make it somber. Like that Ducky passed peacefully in his sleep and that Jimmy was the one to discover him. The mention of the other teams, and pictures on the wall of previous teams was a nice touch. Terrific job including clips of Ducky throughout the episode that were relevant to the storyline. Loved that we seen Tony at the end, and his lines were so totally Tony. Was a bit disappointed that Gibbs didn't make an appearance.

I do not normally post in episode threads or on this board all that often but I did want to stop by and say how beautifully this episode was done. I am glad that they had Brian write the tribute as there was really no better or more fitting choice there. And he did a wonderful job with it. He is a good episode writer, but he really touched upon the heart of this show and the Ducky character with this. Everyone did. And the little sprinkles of past cases, scenes, and team members was beautiful and you could feel their love and presence even without them actually being there. Obviously some could not be there and it would have been too much to have too many show up. Even more than one unless they showed the funeral may have been too much. It is a shame that they couldn't mention more team members sending in tributes but I am glad that they showed the three other originals. Tony was a perfect surprise appearance too.
