I'll repeat what I said last thread

Didn't feel anything from the backdoor pilot on NCIS

Saying that I still plan to eventually switch to LA but not sure when that will be I've wanted to watch for years for Chris cause loved him in the 90s when he played Robin to Batman

Honestly I tried LA when it first started but wasn't impressed by it so only got a few episodes in. At one point I bought the first season on DVD (I think it was so I could get things cheaper if I remember correctly) & tried it again but still wasn't overly impressed. Just like having it for the Abby episodes . But posting/modding here I was exposed to what was happening with gifs, ect. so curiosity brought me in & I'm glad I gave the show another shot. It is a show which takes a bit to find its feet but there's also reasons behind it too as they've got a story to tell which takes some time. Then now watching all the seasons & listening to what they say in the special features I have a greater understanding & appreciation of the show - including where it started.

If/when you give the show a chance go into it prepared to give it the chance to get to that point. You may need to watch one/two seasons before it grabs you & you're stuck in love with the show

I tend to start all of my rewatches with 1x18 for a specific reason (Deeks)...

But as a first timer you'd watch s1 completely to understand everything...

I'll most likely give it a VERY strong chance when I do decide to try Chris and than throw in LLCoolJ two leads of people I know even if not a lot of their careers

From the backdoor pilot was interested by the Psychologist though the one that told Gibbs of what Mace had done 18 years ago when she was investiaging Gibbs for killing that Mexican drug dealer

Yeah that is the hard thing as I would say skip ahead & start later but you really should watch from the start as a first time viewer. Honestly for me I would skip to S2 even though Deeks joining does improve S1

Nate is awesome. Unfortunately he becomes more of a reoccurring character so we Don't get to see him as much in later seasons . Macy isn't in the show but could have been an interesting character. But I also think NCIS completes her story

Yeah I like when he first comes in. The character brought a lot to the show I think.

The thing for Macy is her ties are with the main show. The cast of characters they establish for LA work well, & personally I can't see how Macy would fit in. I also love Hetty though so can't imagine not having her. Macy is better off how they do her & with her ties with NCIS. Especially given how few crossovers NCIS & LA have had. When you finish S7 you'll understand what I'm saying about Macy & her ties to NCIS as she appears again in that

Actually there's an episode you might enjoy Sarah & be able to skip ahead of & give the show a go to see what you think - 7x05 'Blame It on Rio'. Its far enough into the show that everyone is all established & amazing together, but it also has Tony from NCIS in it so even if you don't like LA you'll probably enjoy seeing that appearance. That episode though may give you a better idea on what the show will become & a better taste, then you can sit through LA S1 & S2 to see if you want to carry on watching

Ah than looking forward to seeing Macy again at the end of S7 tomorrow than will probably understand her not being apart of LA

You have quickly discovered Tony as my favorite Abby and Gibbs after him but I may do that of giving 7x05 a try before trying the series

EDIT Well this will be interesting and can see why Mace will be returning. Just hit the point of Abby being down in Mexico and realizing that it was most likely Gibbs that killed the drug dealer 20 years ago almost

WHAT??? her being found dead

Yeah I was trying to word things to not spoil that for you. It certainly is a good reason for her to not be in LA. For me though her storyline worked with Gibbs, so it was best to stick with NCIS. Plus writing her out of LA (she transfers somewhere else I think they explain in LA) meant they could use her in the NCIS storyline for Gibbs killing the drug dealer/avenging his family. Part of me thinks that was their intention all along too & they never wanted to keep her for LA if it was picked up I mean it makes sense to me that way...

Well you did want icons of him so seemed pretty obvious. Then most people do like him & enjoyed that episode. I don't but I still enjoy that episode. Then a crossover seems like a good place to start but no point in using Abby's appearances to try out LA as they're from S1. You may as well just start from the beginning with those & watch them as you get to them

Blame it on Rio was amazing!

Sarah, if you want to see what the LA episodes are like, you should start with that episode...

I think what that they had a plan when it came to Macy...

It makes sense for it to have been the plan about Macy and makes sense cause the backdoor put her in Gibbs path again after so long and than they were able to finish it off with her transferring than having been killed and the fact that she investigated Gibbs back than makes sense of her having been killed

I watched the back-pilot more recently for the first time... After years of watching NCIS LA...

So for me Macy didn't fit the "LA-image" I had in mind either way; I felt sorry for her death, but her being reassigned to a different office made perfect sense to me ...
