I have rerun of SVU on in the background & I heard a familiar voice. I looked up, looked at her for a bit but couldn't place her at first. Then it dawned on me - Loretta
. I don't remember CCH Pounder being in the show at all. Supposedly she appeared in a few episodes too... but looks like they were spread out across a few seasons so that could be why. Nothing since season 12 either & they're at season 23 now so has been a while |

I remember seeing her in ER s1, and not recognizing her in the beginning at all - but then something in her voice felt familiar, and I realized that she's CCH __________________

 Loretta.Just watched 1x09 with a true cold case, the one which made Loretta stay in NO after graduation. Love the depth that Loretta/CCH brought to the show, and the fact that they had those racial cases even as far back as season 1 mentioned, that shows that for NOLA, and CCH & Scott it was never about it being a popular theme to discuss. It's been at the core of this show from day 1. Haven't met Loretta's future sons yet, but looking forward to re-meeting them. __________________

I think what makes Loretta stand out from CCH's many other roles is that the writers let her to form Loretta to reflect the kind of person CCH is... if that makes any sense... __________________

CCH Pounder I recognise when she appears in SVU
(watching her second ep atm). I do enjoy her character, even if she's a defense attorney so working against the SVU attorney. I didn't realise she's only appeared in 5 episodes. Impressive they brought her back a few times between S3-12. I also didn't realise it has been that long since she last appeared. |
