Titanic 3D

Talking to USA Today, director James Cameron confirmed the target date for a 3D version of his record-breaking epic Titanic. “We’re targeting spring of 2012 for the release, which is the 100 year anniversary of the sailing of the ship.”....

More than 10 years after becoming king of the movie world, James Cameron's Titanic may soon be padding its $1.8 billion worldwide gross with a 3-D rerelease, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The trade paper says the upcoming rerelease of the Toy Story films has got other studios around town looking to pull films out of the vault and back into theaters with some souped-up effects. So if you've ever wondered what Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet would look like if she were stretching her arms out right toward your face, well, dreams do come true....

More info on “Movie 43” project Hugh Jackman and Kate Winslet star in a segment called The Catch in a multi-sketch film shot by Peter Farrelly (of the Farrelly brothers) and several other directors. Gerard Butler, Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber are other actors working on this project. The other directors in this film include actors Elizabeth Banks and Griffin Dunne, Brett Ratner (New York, Je T’aime, X-Men: The Last Stand), and Charles Wessler (Dumb and Dumber and the upcoming Three Stooges). This collaborative idea from Farrelly and Wessler strings together a series of stories with a unifying theme, similar to films in the 1970s such as Kentucky Fried Movie. The two worked on There’s Something About Mary. Based on the success of ensemble films like Valentine’s Day, a star-studded film with a modest budget could well work again.

The producing duo, best known for gigglefests like "There's Something About Mary," shot scenes with Hugh Jackman and Kate Winslet this week at the Thompson Gild Hall hotel in the Financial District. An industry source confirms that the work will be a part of a series of shorts. According to an onlooker, Jackman and Winslet broke for lunch at the Libertine after wrapping up work on the light-hearted set. "It's certainly a comedy," the source says. "They were laughing the whole time." Should 'Mad Men' be set in the 1950s, not 60s? One fan thinks so "Mad Men" may be a cult classic, but not everyone is pleased with the show's rendering of the 1960s advertising world. "I once did a radio show, and they had these two old-time ad guys on, one of whom was just Mr. Cranky-pants," Michael Gladis, who plays Paul Kinsey, confided at a bash for the Brooks Brothers Mad Men Edition suit in NYC on Tuesday night. "He couldn't say anything but, 'You guys are getting it wrong — you should be set in the '50s. This is nothing like it was.' I was put in the rare position of defending the show. Usually, we're lucky enough to be well praised, but it was kind of fun to defend it."

Was becoming an actress always a goal for you?

Kate Winslet: Yes, I always wanted to be an actress for as long as I can remember, and I’m incredibly fortunate that my career has turned out the way it has.

Which of your early roles really changed things for you?

KW: Playing Juliet in Heavenly Creatures changed my life, and the role of Clementine in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind opened many new doors creatively.

KW: Autism. I narrated a film about an autistic boy called A Mother’s Courage and, as a result, was impelled to set up a new charity: www.goldenhatfoundation.org.

What is your biggest indulgence at the moment?

KW: Coffee. And kissing my kids.

What are you passionate about?

KW: Both of the above! As well as acting.

How would you describe your personality?

KW: Passionate, practical, warm, and adventurous.

What could you never give up?

KW: I love to cook. I could never give that up.

What is your ultimate dream?

KW: A cure for autism.

You are Longines’ Ambassador of Elegance. Tell us about your experience with the brand.

KW: I love working with Longines, and I’m very excited about what’s ahead. I have been a fan of their watches for a long time, so it made great sense to accept their invitation to become an ambassador.

It must have been a natural choice to become one of the company’s ambassadors, then.

KW: They are a great company of collaborative people whose charitable endeavors are admirable. It’s an honor to be asked to join hands with them.

Tell us about the commercial. What was it like working with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Chi Ling Lin?

KW: It was so much fun. I loved working with them, and it was so interesting to have such a mix of different cultures. They are both wonderful actresses and so professional.

Do you have a favorite piece from the Longines DolceVita collection?

KW: Right now, I really fancy the Longines DolceVita steel and rose gold model, but some of their classic flagship pieces are stunning, too. They’re elegant. Their watches are so effortlessly elegant.

How do you define luxury?

KW: Real luxury is having the time to read endless stories in bed with my children. And I get that all the time. I’m so blessed.

Apparently 2.5 milion is disappointing for ratings for Mildred Pierce I dont think its that bad for a tv show but I usually dont watch mini series...

Nude Winslet “Titanic” sketch to sell at auction The illustration of Winslet reclining on a sofa and wearing nothing but a diamond necklace is sketched by Leonardo DiCaprio’s artist character Jack Dawson in the 1997 epic film. The movie’s director James Cameron was actually responsible for the drawing, which features the initials of DiCaprio’s character and the date April 14, 1912 — the day before the Titanic sank. Cameron’s artwork is expected to be the star lot at Premiere Props’ memorabilia auction on Saturday and Sunday (02-03 April, 2011). A spokesperson for the firm says, “This is a wonderful piece of memorabilia (from) one the biggest grossing films of all time.”
