I love Cold Desert because this is the most personal song ever. Caleb recorded it when he was very drunk and he don't even remember recording it. But when he heard this song he almost cried and said it must be on the album.

Heres the transcription of the home video interview for you Weronika and for everyone else whos not British or American:

I think it was yday, we were talking about what should be a b side and Jared said: Well what happens if we you know, if cold desert makes it on the record?
and I was like what are you talking about? Like since when did Cold Desert become part of the record? And then they reminded me like yeah we had recorded it. It was on a day that I was very drunk,we were all pretty drunk but I was very drunk and we recorded 3 songs back to back, boom boom boom and so I was like alright lets play Cold Desert,play it for me.And they played it for me and I almost cried because all I had was the first verse and the rest of it was just free flowed.It just it just came off of my tongue you know.

...(??dont get what he says here) ...as sad as the lyrics and I could obviously tell that was a person that felt like he was at the end of his road.And the only thing I remember about that day,about that session was me saying Jesus dont love me.And I remember immediately; even in my drunken stuper, I got chillbums but in a bad way. I wanted to kick myself in the face for ever saying that coz it was the saddest thing I had ever said.But when I listened to it in context to the song all of these lyrics,even though some of them are hard to make out because Im a little....wasted, they really,they mean a lot. And as soon as we listened back I was like floored and Shakeer turned around and said I just want you to know, that verse, I felt that way in my whole life. And I literally dont remember ever saying it,I just remember them saying aight lets do it and it was a long song and a lot was said but every bit of it was truth.All these songs on this record are pretty professional and thats the one song that I wont go back and re-record. just because it was a moment it was pure, it was natural and I..obviously I could probably go back and sing it better but I dont think the lyric would come across with the honesty that it did.. at that moment.

We had had a long day drive and we arrived in I think Arizona and everyone was about to go to their rooms . And I remember walking off of the bus and it was...there was the hotel over there , was like this big shining light.And then over here was this big dark desert and it was cold.And I was supposed to go to the shining light, I went to the dark and I remember just walking around the desert, pitch black.I dont know how long I walked ,how far I walked but I could hear animals, I could hear snakes. It felt like...and I walked around all night.Ended up fine in my hotel room but ever since that night, you know the desert has always kind of had a hold on me and the cold of the desert doesnt necessarily only mean that it gets cold there,it means that, you know,thats what I chose.Cold deserts the first one that I said, thats not a b side you know.After I heard it its like i dont care I dont sound that great on the song but thats not a b side,thats a moment, thats honest.

Ohhh thats SO amazing. I love how you can please them and make Caleb says he loves you by just showing you appreciate what they do PLUS hes so passionate on stage, as if hes having sex up there

I guess Ill go to a concert in Poland if they love it so much there. He said something like that on a German concert but nothing with that he feels sexy, just saying how thankful he was
