The CW has released the official (spoiler-filled) description of the upcoming ninth episode of Season 10 of "Smallville". Titled "Patriot", this episode is scheduled to air in the U.S. at 8.00pm on Friday, November 19th on The CW.

As he suspected, it was a trap to lure superheroes to an undisclosed location where he is confined to a jail and subjected to a battery of brutal tests under the supervision of Col. So I hope Chisolm does a much better job at writing Clark in this episode, because prior to this the only episode he wrote was Checkmate from last season and Clark was totally OOC in that ep.

I actually liked Clark in Checkmate. And the way the directing went with the comic book effect was pretty cool.

Looking forward to this episode though. It's gonna be fun to see AC again as well as seeing at what new trouble Lois will land herself in.

I didn't like Clark's excessive violence towards Tess, the way he grovelled at Chloe's feet, and how he didn't give Martian Manhunter the benefit of the doubt, which is EXTREMELY unusual for him because he ALWAYS looks for the best in people.

Warrior and Checkmate were the only two eps in S9 that I felt like Clark was written OOC.

^- You do make valid points. Those actions were very un-Clark like but I think that's what adds to him as a whole character. He's got all these expectations of being the savior and that he has a greater destiny . People put him on such a high pedestal so we forget that he does have a great deal of humanity in him and so he's gonna mess up just like anyone else.

Rach, ITA with you. I hate to say it b/c Tom's directing but I don't have high hopes for this episode.

I have no problems with Clark messing up. I think there's a difference between someone being written OOC and messing up. Like I said it was totally OOC that Clark believed the worst of MM when he has no reason to from his previous experiences with him. MM saved his life a couple of times in the past and looked out for him. He also stayed on Earth to protect people, so why would he kill anyone? It also didn't make any sense that Chloe and Ollie believed that MM was innocent when Clark did not. Compare this to Disciple when Clark believed that Ollie was innocent until evidence suggested otherwise, while Chloe thought that Ollie actually did attack her and Lois. Clark would have had more reason to believe that Ollie was guilty than MM was in Checkmate given the fact that the attacker looked like Ollie and Ollie had recently been battling depression. So like I said messing up and being written OOC are two completely different things.

Karen, I know how you feel.

Ray, I'm hoping for that too.
