Isabelle Davies is an attractive, successful, 30-year-old woman with a great career, lots of friends and an eye and flair for restoring houses. Life could be no better for Isabelle - but as far as her mother and friends are concerned, she will be a spinster if she doesn't find a husband soon. They constantly nag her about dating and finding the right man.

When yet another blind date turns into a nightmare, Isabelle resolves to do something that will forever keep her friends and mother out of her hair. She will take their advice and marry the one person who knows her better than anyone else: herself. Much to her mother Lillian's chagrin and her best friend Amy's disgust, Isabelle begins planning her wedding with the help of her very enthusiastic gay friend, Bill. As Isabelle and Bill amuse themselves with the details of organizing her nuptials, Isabelle is confident that she will finally get some peace from the wedding-obsessed crowd - and she will also be making a statement for single women all over the world.

What Isabelle doesn't bank on, however, is a meeting with her contractor's handsome and intelligent son, Colin. At first she assumes that this man won't live up to her standards, but after a few romantic and charming dates, it begins to dawn on Isabelle that Colin may in fact be a better life-partner for her than the one she's already planning to marry!

As the wedding date approaches and the preparations escalate, Isabelle knows that she must let Colin know about her wedding plans. Unfortunately, her numerous attempts to tell him about the wedding are overshadowed by their growing romance and Colin soon finds out about Isabelle's plans to marry herself when she announces them on national TV. Frustrated by Isabelle's failure to tell him about her upcoming wedding and about the repercussions of being known by the public as that "schmuck" who wouldn't marry his girlfriend, Colin decides he can't date a woman who is about to marry herself and the pair splits up.

With the pressure from the wedding mounting and the loss of her boyfriend fresh in her mind, Isabel must make a choice between sticking to her convictions and following her heart: Will she try to win back the man of her dreams or will she continue on with her wedding?

I loved the scene when she decides to 'marry herself' :lol: She really looked so fed up with everyone's comments about her getting married.

I love her gay friend. He's hilarious. Wasn't there a scene when he was in a dress or am I imagining things:look:?

What's the plot of the film?

Well, I'm only halfway through it. But the main idea is that Isabelle, a woman in her 30's, is happy with her life. But everyone keeps telling her she should get married to be happy. So she decides to 'marry herself' to show everyone that she loves her life as it is and that she doesn't need a man to be happy.

It starts out as a joke but she sends out invitations and buys a wedding dress and ... But she then falls for a guy she met through work.

^Yep that's pretty much it:nod:. I really hated her best friend in this flick though. She was so unsupportive of her and willing to marry a buffoon just so she could get married.

I know, same here. Since Isabelle thought this will make her happy, then she should have supported her no matter what she thought of the idea.

I don't know how I feel about this film.

I mean, I loved Erica in it (obviously), but the film itself? Still iffy on it.

But I wish I had reason other than getting married to have people give me all those cool kitchen appliances!

Was I the only who hated Isabelle? LOL. Yeah, I realise it's Erica, but it's not. I didn't like her character....Call me INSANELY crazy, but there was something about her that made me wanna punch her.

Blah. I hate Lifetime movies. :rolleyes:

I think the pace of the film was a bit slow, but I liked it. I cant not like something Erica is in, or someone Ericas playing... biased for life :P
