Me too. I read somewhere on tumblr that Disney was going to stop doing the hand-drawn films, particularly the fairy tale/princess themed ones, because young girls these days are more into shows like Hannah Montana and Sonny With A Chance. I reblogged the post and blamed Miley Cyrus (I was kidding, lol) but I don't remember where exactly the article is.

And they mentioned doing more of the 3D animation thing, which I admit is entertaining. But like I said before, the only ones I really liked were the Toy Story franchise and Finding Nemo.

I'm with you there . Everything about Disney is relatable to all age groups, but I guess I understand where they're coming from as well. Their main demographic is children and unfortunately the kids ain't responding as well as they used to. Such a shame. They're missing out.

Thank god for my Disney VHS collection. Lol.

I know you guys are talking about the classics, but I just came back from seeing Tangled and I highly recommend it.

Although, yes Disney needs to keep making those handdrawn movies.

I agree they don't make disney movies like they used to. Wouldn't part with my videos of the disney classics. Walt Disney was clearly a talented, intelligent, imaginative man.

For me, the last quality hand drawn film Disney came out with was Tarzan. And that was in 1999. In the 90's, the films were good; Mulan, Hercules and Tarzan are the ones I remember most from that decade.

But you can tell that they're kind of straying away from the whole "princess" genre.. like Hercules, Mulan and Tarzan all had action sequences that appealed to boys as well, instead of the usual "prince charming and the princess" story that the older Disney movies had.

I haven't seen Princess & the Frog yet. I definitely have to check that out.

I've never seen it.

I always thought the Jungle Book had fantastic music, it always made me want to see along.
