Oh, boy. I wonder what inspired Anjel to create that set. I would have thought that the waters would be calm during hiatus. Does it have anything to do with the recently released cast pics from last year's Comic Con? Wait, wait. Don't tell me.

Anyhoo, I caught THGG in syndication last night because, you know, I couldn't watch it anytime I wanted otherwise.
I'm happy to report that it is still my most favorite TBBT episode ever.
It's not just the Shamy interaction. (I do miss their plotting/ partners-in-crime story lines.) It's an ensemble episode. Raj made me laugh the most and I don't even mind Priya in this one.

I still think it is so adorable that Sheldon and Amy had an active Skype/video chat session while Sheldon was working on his laptop, all the while he was talking to Leonard and before he even came in. I wonder how often they do that. It's more proof that they're always communicating. No wonder he was so worried when he couldn't contact Amy in TIP!

I am so glad someone else noticed this as well. I kept thinking the same thing. It would take far more than an hour to just literally type out 31 pages, much less think up the content and the correct legal wording in an hour or so timeframe. We know that he left Stuart and Amy at the theatre when the movie was well under way so that means he must have already had something in the works to get it to her quickly.

How did he get in her apartment? They never addressed that either. I was very curious about that (although loved it because it shows how jealous he really was...wanting to make sure Stuart left immediately ) but I do wonder how he got in.

Love the episode, but wish they had somehow had Amy make some comment about how quickly he had the agreement thrown together. It would have definitely made Sheldon squirm.

I think Sheldon may have had a key to Amy's apartment. They were very close friends before they began dating, so that is my explanation.

As for the time frame given for having the document ready, I've always assumed he had it done already.

Meg -I read your new fanfic. You are doing an incredible job! It's very true to character. Would love to see it work out like this in season 6.

You're right -when you think about the fact that this is Sheldon, it is truly amazing how far he has come in his relationship with Amy. It's almost as if he's just letting her lead him to wherever she wants to go.

Hmm... I would like to know that, too. I did love his answer when Amy asked him that very same question. "Is this the kind of nagging I can expect now that you're my girlfriend?"

I agree that Sheldon may not have an "end game" or even "outline of steps to lead anywhere" kind of approach, but he does think about Amy. I keep thinking back in Desperation Emanation episode ( Season 4, ep 5) how it starts out with Leonard on the couch making some comment about the hulk while they he and Sheldon are watching TV and Sheldon comments about Leonard's amusing comment and then follows immediately with "I think I shall share that with Amy Farah Fowler" and texts her with it. Now they were not talking about the girls at all. They were just watching a hulk movie, and he is immediately thinking of Amy. To me this unveils that Sheldon does think of Amy, but just not overtly.

Having the RA ready to go immediately is another example. It would have taken several hours to write an agreement that long and yet he has it ready in minutes. This has to mean that he had been pondering it and already had parts written (most of it actually to get it ready in that quick of a turnaround time).

The more he had to remind people that she was not his girlfriend in earlier episodes, the more it was clear that he was still contemplating making her his girlfriend...as they adage says "doth protests too much". Sheldon fought it as long as he possibly could and it wasn't until confronted with the fact he might lose her (to Stuart no less), that he had to face the fact and ask her to be his girlfriend.

I realize he isn't an end-game person, but he clearly had already developed strong feelings for her. Remember two episodes earlier was the Zazzy cat episode where he had to face the depth of his feelings already. I suspect after the cat incident and when they got back together as "friends", is when he truly began to think about considering her more than just a friend and started working on an agreement should he ever be put in a situation where he needed to have it ready. One thing Sheldon is, is very organized. He may not have been daydreaming about her, etc. but she WAS on his mind. He is the type to have things ready, just like his emergency equipment. He does not like being surprised, so it would not shock me at all that he had already started and pretty much finished putting a document together in case he needed it. I guess I just invalidated my comment about not being an end-game person. Well I guess a better way of saying it, is that Sheldon is always prepared for "what if" scenarios. He may already be "what if"ing his relationship with Amy and having ideas and thoughts in place, but that doesn't mean he has a real plan of knowing where he wants to be with his relationship with her. He is always content to be status quo. However, he also has a lot of evidence that he is not always the one in control of their relationship and so may have already realized that she could push for more. I can see him preparing for various scenarios just in case.

Sheldon's feelings are deepening so he is lessening on his rigid nature because of it which is why he can be spontaneous and reach out and grab Amy's hand and hold it. It was natural for him to do it because he felt comfortable doing so at this point. She played it perfectly by not making a big deal out of it (unlike Penny when she got her hug and had to mention it to Leonard as if Leonard couldn't see for himself). Instead, Amy looked up at him (to reassure herself he was okay) and then went back to watching the launch. She played it the way Sheldon needed. If she had made a big deal, he may not be comfortable the next time he wants to reach out to her naturally (whether to hold her hand or hug her or cuddle or whatever). I think that quiet exchange was the perfect way to handle his affection for her at that moment. It is going to be fun to see how he moves forward (because there is no such thing as going back at this point).

I honestly believe that Sheldon does think about Amy and has been for a long time. I think there have been little glimpses that show us that (like the scene I spoke of above and also his conversation with Leonard while playing chess implies he was thinking about her with "bare" shoulders because he described them as "pale shoulders" which means he was imagining what they looked like bare since she has never had them bare at all). I think his thinking is going to move from just "considering" her to actually affectionately thinking of her (or daydreaming about her). The chess scene was the start of revealing he has started to do so.

Now the question is, when he starts realizing that he can be aroused by her, will he talk to Leonard about it or how will that be revealed. Will be interesting indeed!

I definitely agree that he had at least been pondering it, but what if he didn't have any of it written down (maybe out of fear of seeing it on paper?) and just had it logged up in that big, bulbous brain of his (with his eidetic memory and all)? Then once he realized how much he didn't want to see Amy with other men, he just churned it all out on paper?

I don't know...just a thought.
