The first fandom I ever belonged to had a drabble community that was active and fun. I've never been in a fandom since that had one, but we have enough fic writers around here that I think one might be fun. It works thusly: write a complete story using only 100 words. Then, leave a one- or two-word prompt for the writer after you. (For tips on writing a great drabble, go HERE.) I'll start in the next post.

so we each write a story only using 100 words but it has to be sort of based on the clues the previous poster put like for example the final sentence would be.....

and penny took leonard to the movies. the next person needs to continue on with that topic. but can make it their own way like i could start it as at the moives penny broke up with leonard.
or is this like the 300 word game where one person puts in a word but ends at 100 not 300?

Penny walked slowly up the stairs, thinking about her relationship with Leonard; most specifically about when she should tell Leonard that she is in love with him. She had first realized it a week ago when Leonard had brought her chocolates in response to her admission of PMSing. The thought of admitting it both scared and excited her, mostly because an “I love you” had ended their first relationship. Penny reached the top of the stairs and saw Leonard, holding several dozen roses and fumbling to unlock Penny’s door. Penny smiled, walked over, kissed Leonard, and said, “I love you.”


(exactly 100 words. )

So the prompt would be something like "Leonard's Response"?

What you said first was closer to it. You can just write any fic that's exactly 100 words (no more no less), then skip a line and leave a prompt (it can be to continue your story), or just be about whatever, like "Amy gets the flu" or "What Leonard does next" or "Rainbows" or even a lyric from a song.). The prompt should NOT be "Write a fic where Penny and Howard go to a movie, but his mom keeps calling, and..." It's a prompt, not a plot line.

Leonard suddenly froze. He blinked twice rapidly and stared off into space. It was not the reaction she was expecting to get from him.

“Leonard, I said I love you,” she said, kissing him on his left cheek.

“Uh huh.” His left hand slowly reached up to touch where her lips had been.”I heard you.” He turned to her, eyebrows furrowed. “You... you love me?”

“Yeah.”

“Really?”

“Leonard, don't push it.”

A smile crept on his face. “No. Just checking if I heard you correctly.” Handing her the roses, he said, “I love you too.”

Penny smiled, then kissed him.


Next prompt: Sheldon surprises Amy.

Amy opened the door, surprised that Sheldon was visiting so late.

“What are you doing here?” Amy asked.

Sheldon cleared his throat, looking everywhere but at Amy.

“I have come to a conclusion. Since the evening of Howard’s launch into space, I have been unable to stop contemplating the repercussions of my impromptu hand hold.”

“Repercussions?” Amy asked.

“Yes. Much to my surprise, I find myself wishing to hold your hand. I move for an amendment to the Relationship Agreement, allowing hand holding.”

Amy smiled, completely surprised. “Seconded.”
