Did anyone else watch "The Dropout"? Kevin has a small role in it. Laurie Metcalf is also in it with a bigger part. Both were great.

I haven't seen it!
My favorite random stumbling on Kevin for me was when he showed up on The Mentalist as a guy attending a family reunion, and his character was called "the frog man" as a joke because "you sort of look like a frog." __________________

I made it through the first 3 chapters of Jessicas book and wow that was an intersting reveal about nearly casting Kevin for Howard Wolowitz.

It was! I know I'd heard how he'd auditioned early on for the main cast, and then they later brought him in for Stuart. But it's wild that he was the top choice, and not even Simon knew all this time! I can't even imagine how he would've been as Howard.

I can't see Kevin as Howard after Simon, unless he has been writing differently I agree.
It's weird to learn this things afterwards. I mean it's interesting, but there's no way you can picture a different actor for each character. Who could picture Johnny as Sheldon? He would probably have done a great job, but nonetheless. __________________

I think Sheldon probably would have turned out differently too. Like pilot Howard, I could see Kevin pulling that off. It's the fully fledged Howard that I can't see at all.

I can't imagine Kevin as Howard either, but it probably would have worked too. But I'm glad we got the cast we have now.
By the way, after the reveal from the book, our thread title makes me giggle every time I read it  __________________
